Not sure if this has been suggested, but it would be great to be able to change your name in-game just like in Warcraft III. Would rather use a different alias in Dota 2 and not my steam profile name.

Not sure if serious.

You can change your name in steam and it changes your in-game name to whatever you want it to be.

Legit response right there. ;)

"Would rather use a different alias in Dota 2 and not my steam profile name." I agree with you, mmayboroda. Sometimes I use some troll-nicks playing dota 2 with friends and don't want that on my Steam profile. :s

dota 2 is linked to your steam profile. The game will have achievements and other goodies

Yeah, but a diferent nickname on DotA wouldn't make any diference, since it's "linked" with your steam account. I mean, I can use w/e nick I want on Counter-Strike...

The command in other valve games is setinfo name "<name>". I expect this works in DOTA2 as well. Type it in the console or bind to a key in cfg. Its fussy about some characters like spaces if you use a keybind but it does the job."
