It helped me a lot, might be not as useful for the newer macs and overall that is not a brilliant idea to mess with low level stuff. But if you want to give it a try, here you go (if you don't have administrator privileges please "contact your system administrator" or something):


Open Activity Monitor.app, right click the header bar and check Process ID (or at the menu View > Columns > Process ID). Launch Dota 2 and look for dota_osx at Activity Monitor.
Open Terminal.app, run sudo renice -10 -p 815 where -10 is a flag for a high process priority, 815 is the Process ID of dora_osx which you can see at Activity Monitor. Enter your administrator password.

Cmnd+Tab back to the game.



You'll have to repeat the process every time if it helps you.
