Should Valve Wipe Stats at the End of Beta?

Just curious as to what people think on Valve wiping Dota 2's stats at the end of beta.

I'd say that we should keep items, but battle level, win/loss/abandon and MMR should all be wiped. It just seems a bit silly that we are, in effect, being punished for testing Dota 2 for Valve. Losses due to bugs (the -wtf bug comes to mind), due to heroes not having the counters they do in DotA etc.

    What does everyone else think?

It's not a punishment for the beta testers, far from it. Keeping stats is a punishment for people that got late beta access and will never catch up in stats.

Punished? REALLY? Its a game, it will work itself out over time. A loss here and there due to bugs will have almost no effect on your "leet stats" a year from now.

So what you're saying is that it's a punishment for everyone and no one enjoys it?

So, why not wipe it at end of beta?

Try to come up with an argument instead of saying, "ITS NOT LIKE THAT."

I think it should be optional if anything. Since you will still end up with similar stats to the ones you have anyway.

What about the people who have spent money on Battle Point boosts?

This is not a beta at this point. Anyone can play.

No point in erasing anything that has been recorded the past 9 months.

Here's how I think it should be done. At the end of beta, all participants are asked the following: Do you wish to reset your stats? Note this will not effect your Current BP count or level. If the answer is yes, it wipes your wins and losses, as well as records with each hero and your internal MMR. If the answer is no, it keeps all the previous data. This way people who are happy with their stats can stay where they want, where as people who want a fresh start get a chance to do so. Just give players a one time chance to do this, and everyone is happy.

No. Apart from anything else, having almost a million players with established MMR would be amazingly useful.
