    Does anyone know where to go/who to talk to about getting more API calls for your dev key? I presume that such an arrangement is possible, given that dotabuff is downloading so many matches, but do not know what the process to accomplish that is.

    you have like 100,000 api calls per day? isn't that enough?

    afaik it isn't a thing.. you would be best to pm a dev on here and ask or something i guess though..

    BTW, does anyone knows what game_mode=15 is?

    If I understand correctly, GetMatchDetails takes a single mach ID. If there are ~500K players a day each playing at least 1 game, I can only ever capture <=20% of the match detail data. I am more interested in whether it is possible to have more (and what terms) right now, rather than actually using them; that might come later.
