Thread: Huge FPS problem

    Huge FPS problem

Hi there, It's been some weeks ago since I started having FPS issues in Dota 2.
Before, I could play Dota 2 with med-high graphics in this same computer, now I have med-low (mostly low) in the graphic settings and the FPS still being decreased. In first place I thought that this trouble was caused because of the amount of things that I had on my hard drive and they were slowing my computer.
Yesterday, I formatted my computer and I can say now that this wasn't the cause. I used a modified autoexec.cfg and also wrote -nod3d9ex -novid -high -dxlevel 81 -heapsize 1048576 in the Dota 2 launch options, but FPS still being very low.
The FPS doesn't start low when I run the game: when I start a new game, the FPS are more aceptable (+40) but then they start to decrease to 5~10 FPS and the computer becomes very very hot. I don't understand why this happens now, because before I could play Dota 2 with the same computer getting high FPS and having high graphic settings. I updated graphic drivers, lowered the settings and I think that there aren't many more things that I didn't try already.
For what I've read from other users, they are having many similiar FPS issues and this is very weired. Do you have this same or similiar issue?

    I have
    Nvidia Geforce GT540M
Intel Core i5 CPU 2.30 GHz
    RAM: 4 GB

    Help please, thanks in advice.

I have the same problem since one of the december patch. New drivers, defragmentation, ccleaner, and nothing changes. It is still 10 fps during games and lowering video options dont make any effect. I have the same fps number on very low and very high. Before that i could play on max settings and had 60fps+. Game is sometimes really unplayable.

I thought that beta phase is to improve game, not to make it worse.

    Intel Core i5-2400 3.10 GHz
    ATI Radeon HD 4850
    8 GB RAM DDR3

I'm still waiting for any official statement about this fps issue.

I have the same problem since one of the last patch. New drivers, defragmentation, ccleaner, and nothing changes.

Before I was 120fps all time now I am 120 but with many random drops to 5-15 fps (I say random because it can occurs during team fights or when I am alone and there is not many things to draw). I tryed all settings even the lowest, all drivers, ...
It occurs when I play and when I watch game.

    Intel Core i7 2670QM, 6MB cache L3, 2.2Ghz - 3.1Ghz Turbo OEM
    ATI HD6990M 2Go GDDR5
    8Go DRR3 1600MHz

I'm still waiting for any official statement about this fps issue.

Of course I can give you all the logs you want to help.

    me too guys...
I've tried 3-4 display drivers, defragmentation even format...I was able to play the game at 60-70 fps steady but now it dropped to 40-45 in the same settings.
After the latest fix they released,i saw some(for a few moments at least) improvement, when i join a game fps shoots up to 90-100 fps but few moments later drops to 40-45 again...Before anyone says the heat causes that,my gpu temps is 49 max during the game.
    Rig:
    -Amd phenom 9850B quad 2.5GHz
    -4GB RAM DDR2 1066
    -2xRADEON HD 7770(crossfire)

    same here
    with every patch
    my fps is droping
    now in 5vs5 team fights
    im getting spikes like crazy
and when im solo i have kinda stable fps
ive tried to put low settings but its the same
high-low its same to me -.-
then i thought its latency issue ..i checked that too
ping is 40-60 0% packet loss at all time so its not latency

    amd phenomx4 955 3.2 ghz
    4gb ram
gtx 260 (i know its an old card but if i can play battlefield on med to low settings at 40-60 fps i should be able to play dota with no spikes)
