I think it should be given to the players who got the highest gpm,exp/min on the winning side and the one with highest gpm and exp/min(they can do the formula) on the losing side awarding total of 3. They can have a call on these awardees like the farmer, experienced one and the struggler.

nah I'd rather have them completely random, no need to overcomplicate things

I prefer random too. Gives everyone an equal chance in getting these item drops. Otherwise people may start to use too many carries and may bring about other problems too.

My point is they can make other categories for that, I just dont like the random cause sometimes for example you played 10 games and only got 1 item but other player played only 5 games but got 2 items it is somehow unfair.

It's not really counted as unfair since it's going to be random and not done on purpose. It's based purely on luck just like ogre magi's multicast.

Play more games, get more loot. The drop rate increases with your battle level.

Random is alright.

Although this most recent match where I proved to be a very efficient support as the Necrolyte, the losing team got both of the 2 random drops.

It was a semi-fairly even match, except we were better team fighters to roughly put.

Random and when achievements adds in game, drop items for take them.

i think it should be like tf2 where you get items randomly. since its an average of 1 item/game-time in tf2, we can set it the same in dota2...so far the max # drops i've seen is two per game and lowest is none...

Also whats up with battle points? You always get an item when you level up but you can get it randomly after a match as well?


Can you get items in vs bots matches? I see a possible exploit there XD

So how about supporters? Their Gold/mn and exp/mn are very low... random drop is better.

Random is not unfair, is random.

And the last thing this game needs is to have stats affect the drop rate. It would inevitably lead to stat whoring from the players, something that can be extremely detrimental in a game so heavily team-based as Dota is.

It's perfect just as it is now. All players finishing the game have a chance to get an item, independently of their stats and whatnot.

random is good. if it will be based on gmp xpm, etc . player who plays carry will mostly get item, players who play support will probably not get any item and it will be unfair for them. random make it fair for everyone :D

Still, too often do we see feeders and afkers get items, there should be some measure like if someone 1:15 in KD ratio, it should be possible to vote to redistribute the chance of getting an item to the team, would be a great compensation!

Wow on the scale of terrible ideas this just broke the scale. So, the Jak that bought the couriers all the wards, dewarded the whole game did not last hit or KS on purpose, and is THE REAL REASON WHY THE TEAM WON, should get nothing. It's a TEAM GAME, the faster you people learn that the better you will become.

It should be given to the winning team only. (excluding lvl ups)

As people tend to have a winrate at about 50% it means same ammount of drops for everyone, yet it will feel better.

The problem is that drop rate is lower than 50% and they dont want to give too much.

Random item drop choosing a random player is the best. We all prefer being surprised.
