  • Game auto-balance

I've been working on different strategies with the same hero and getting very efficient at it, and I'm figuring out ways of getting easy kills on the bots early game during laning.

Something I've noticed is that it seems no matter what the team lineups are, if you do really well early in the game, like if you were able to get a rax down before 20 minutes, your teammates automatically "switch modes", or at least it appears that way.

It seems like they do anything they can to prolong the game and give the enemy team a chance to come back. The enemy is doing a 5 man push up the middle, and your teammates are wandering off into other lanes, farming the jungle while towers go down, starting to do Rosh then quitting halfway. Basically all they need to do is push the weak spot and finish them off, but it seems they are programmed to do anything but that.

Its hard to imagine this wasn't a conscious decision but I'm wondering why. Maybe its to make sure they aren't overly aggressive but it appears that whatever checks they do in terms of deciding when to retreat is seriously flawed. When they push a tower you can see this instant behavior switch, especially a T3 before the rax. There could be no enemy in sight and we have a 4 or 5 man group all full health but they still want to run away.

This usually ends up in everyone getting separated and then picked off individually and the game turns in favor of the opposing team. I've been figuring out ways to counter this, mainly buying support items and trying to keep my teammates alive. Mek, force staff, pipe, mana boots. I suppose its good practice for playing pub games with idiot team mates.
