I believe this may be a Phantom Lancer-specific bug, but it makes practicing with him very difficult.
The long and short of it is that as soon as the laning phase breaks down, bots will basically follow you into every lane you go, seemingly to protect you or help push the lane. If you teleport out to another lane, they'll either teleport to you (after a delay) or walk across the map to rejoin you. If you're farming the jungle, they walk back and forth nearby. If you sit in the fountain, they walk back and forth by the ancient.
For a related image, the bot debug more or less confirmed my suspicions:

After my team had been wiped in a tower defense (the only thing to override their desire to follow me), they all respawned and immediately decided to assemble on my hero, who was farming ancients on his own. On every other hero, they displayed much more initiative and overall autonomy. I don't know if the second listing of Phantom Lancer in the debug list has anything to do with this.
