  • bot tower defending behaviour

    hey,

i just played a couple of bot matches today after not having touched dota in the past 1-2 months. i noticed quite a big improvement in the bot AI (props on that!), though one thing needs more fine tuning: the bots defensive choices. in all the matches i played, the bots hat trouble propperly defending the towers against pushes. bots did not propperly react to enemy pushes on their own, nor to my pings. sometimes they were to far out there without a tp, sometimes they did carry one but refused to use it, even though there was a massive creep wave in front of our t3 tower. even in the late midgame (around 30-40 minutes) they sometimes walked half the map to get to fight the enemies in front of our base.

i think bots should be more eager to buy tps and react better to player pings as well as the enemy gathering up.

I've never seen more than one bot come to defend when I ping, and of course, 1 bot and me can't defend against a 5-man push while the other 3 bots are messing around trading towers.

This is a big issue. Basically bots completely ignore defensive pings at this point. It used to be that if I saw one of our towers being pushed, I could ping it and they would instantly go port over to the tower to defend it. Now the just completely ignore my defensive pings.

This is a huge huge issue, as it really just ruins the practice games with all bots and becomes a game of who can push the fastest.

        Seconded.

Counter-pushing or trading is one thing, but what the bots do is riddiculous. They should at least respond to defensive pings.

Wow, I'm suprised that it was even previously possible to do this. Why would they remove the ability to do that? There are certain other things I can nit pick about the bots but their defensive behavior (pr there lack of) is the only thing that is soooooooooo frustrating. PLEASE make it so that the bots can actually react to pings.

Many of the features are disabled for bots currently. They will work on this again sometime soon.

dont fckin improve bots anymore pls. they can ridiculously beat having 3 members, my team with 4 members, even my team had higher levels. also, i dont understand
how bots at blazing speed repush the lane and expose our tower to an attack in a few seconds again while us as a team try much time to push that lane?

Maybe you didn't have any pushers, or you were clearing the creep waves with just autoattacks?
