  • Allied bots always hard difficulty?

Just played a game with all passives bots to test something out. While I was doing so I noticed that my (radiant) bots were denying, switching & pushing lanes as a 4 bot ball, and using active abilities. The enemy team, who were playing like true passives, were totally steam-rolled.

Difficulty Settings thread lists these behaviours as Hard and up (At least I assume it should read Hard, as there isn't a 'Normal' setting). This also might explain why I've suddenly stopped being able to win against Unfair bots, despite keeping level and good k/d ratio as the bots on my team are always under-leveled (which would happen if they didn't get that 25% bonus from unfair).

Switching to play as dire same thing happened, bots on my side denied and pushed lanes, enemy bots got wiped.

No, it's just that the bots on your team have their hive mind disrupted by your presence hence they coordinate poorly and get naturally owned by the enemy bots.
I've seen some cases where the bots on my team did actually do proper, and it's quite obvious that they do gain the 25% gold/xp bonus when that occurs. At one point I saw an allied Razor literally solo the enemy team.

He, uh, said that his bots do better than the enemy bots when on difficulties lower than hard, you know...

Yeah, sorry that last point in OP about losing against unfair was more thinking out loud; hard to know if it is related as like you say they are at a natural disadvantage because I don't obey their hive mind. I've just noticed recently that they seem to do much worse on unfair.

Main point of this thread was that supposedly passive allied bots were denying, using active abilies, ganking and pushing when they shouldn't.

            Still happening in latest build:

Passive allied bots denying, using active abilies, ganking and pushing when they shouldn't ever do these things.

I think, you are onto something! That would actually be a reasonable explanation why the allies are utterly useless feeders when you play on unfair. Maybe, I should play a few games on hard just to see if that changes anything.

Have you tried to leave "Fill empty slots with bots" unchecked and add the passive bots manually?

Just tried manually adding passive bots to my team and they seemed to behave correctly. So it's only when using the auto add bots feature that the allied passive get confused and start using active abilities etc.

Played a game with auto added unfairs and they certainly seemed to be getting the bonus gold/xp (although it's pretty hard to tell). So it looks less likely this is why they feed so much.

Bots on your team are always at least hard difficulty. This is to make a selection of Easy or Easier more representative of an Easy or Easier experience.

On unfair, all bots are unfair difficulty.

On passive, everyone should really just be passive. I'll fix that.
