  • Bots seem to guess Invoker's Sun Strike

Well, this isn't exactly a problem, but a coding mistake. I’ve seen this happen more them once when playing against bots. Bots seem to inexplicably guess Invoker’s casting Sun Strike and divert from his attack. When casting Sun Strike there isn’t any kind of warning to human players, so bots knowing about it may only be some kind of bug.

You're wrong, there is a warning.

Invoker has the same cast animation for all spells. In the case of sunstrike you can see he is using it on you AND see the general directional line he is casting at by observing him do the cast animation but no spell coming out (because sunstrike is invisible to the enemy).

This is a slippery slope. How should bots react to sunstrikes? Should they dodge it 100% of the time if they have vision of you? That would kind of make it easy to abuse since they have the same walk patterns all the time...
But...what about always dodging it? That's a bad decision because the spell would be useless.
What about 50/50? Well that would just be irritating and completely random.

The truth is I don't think there is any way to deal with this issue. At least, not in a non-complex way.

I don't really have any suggestions because in real player-to-player interaction there is luck involved and completely unpredictable player movement.

Unless they add randomized walking patterns for bots when walking to base, for example, there won't be a good way to approach this problem.

    tl;dr
there is no way to fix complex spell interactions like sunstrike without further AI development.

Currently they'll dodge it as long as they have vision of Invoker anywhere on the map, though they seem to sometimes not bother when they're being chased by enemy bots. (They will if by enemy players, it's kinda weird)
Which is unrealistic, at most it should be a percentage chance if they have vision somewhere on the map, not a guarantee, and even so I'd like it for them to actually try and guess where it is or at the very least overestimating the distance of Sun Strike.
It's painfully obvious that they know exactly where it is, as they'll be running into a straight line, then as soon as they hit the Sun Strike area they'll move flawlessly around it not wasting even a single unit of space with their computer precision.

They should dodge to a random direction when they hear the sound if the sound is hearable, if invoker is too close to them and they have vision of him they should dodge it more effectively.

I don't see anything wrong with that. In a normal game and you are running to base with low life and having an Invoker (Exort) on the other team, it's pretty certain that you will try to dodge Sunstrike by running in circles or something. So I think it's fine unless it's a fountain snipe which people rarely expect in normal games.

They dodge it the moment you cast it. They don't try to dodge if you don't cast it. Dafuq
They should sometimes try to dodge it but not only the moment you cast it, if you're FAR FAR AWAY.

Guessing is different from knowing. The bots very clearly show they know the exact location, they'll walk around it by literally a hairs breadth, so you can't even really use it to catch up cause they waste absolutely 0 time getting around it.
