  • List of Working Bots?

Is there a list where all the working bots (heroes having AI) are mentioned? I've played around 25-30 bot games so far and the bot picks were very similar in all those games. The top picks by bots were:

    1. ES
    2. Lina
    3. Sven
    4. Tidehunter
    5. CM
    6. Yunero
    7. Razor
    8. Kunka

This makes me assume that there are only about 10-12 heroes that have AI. I searched the forum but didn't find a list mentioning all the heroes with AI.

    You forgot:
    - Sniper
    - Tiny
    - Vengeful Spirit
    - Windrunner
    - Zeus

Developers have not included AI for all heroes as they are trying to get their general behavior right first before implementing more AI. That's what they told me in my thread about Predictable AI Behaviors.

So that totals up to 13 working bots. I was looking for an official list tough. But you're right. I've not seen any more AI apart from the ones mentioned here. Btw, I didn't forget them, I just listed the top picks.

Yeah, other than the ones you guys listed I have not seen any other working bots. I'm guessing they're working on their main structure and framework (There have been a lot of Bot updates the last couple patches) before rolling out new heroes - Plus they're trying to get new heroes in as well, which I am sure take priority over new bots :P

Top picks will always be a team of stunners.
Played with Sven, Tiny, Tidehunter, Earthshaker, and Kunkka once. It was mayhem, but still won because AI behavior were predictable.

All of Kunkka's stuns are very predictable, Sven is a maniac with his stun, and Tidehunter's ult is just insane like always. Earthshaker also always seems to block me with his Fissure, no matter where I seem to go he can somehow block me :P But I'm usually a Furion or Storm Spirit so I guess that's fine.

Something I love with the bots is that when they know they're about to die, they say in chat "I'm out", then the next thing you see is "Blah blah killed YOUR TEAMMATE."... Love it.

Yea, that's one of the first things I realized. The only time you see them back in fountain is when they respawn.
When you see Kunkka raises his arms, it's time to move around and not staying in the same spot.
You'll know when Sven is coming for you when he use his God's Strength from miles away.

ES and Tide will always blink to your face before casting stun.
That's some of the bot's predictable behavior. I can go on and on, but I'm sure if most of the people play with bots long enough, they'll notice the standard bot behaviors.

Haha yeah, I've only played ~3 different matches with bots and they only lasted ~30 minutes each (Only finished 1 1/2) and you can notice so many things they just do over and over and over :P The triple-blink with Tidehunter, Earthshaker, and Tiny is SCARY, though. Get me every single time.

As we get more bot heroes implemented, we'll probably go back to the older heroes and try to make them a bit less predictable. For now, a lot of their ability usage rules are pretty simple.

And yeah, we're mostly focused on general AI work before diving in to do a lot more hero bot implementations. Though new hero bots will probably show up from time to time.

Thanks ChrisC for the development on the AI. One of my friend is new to Dota 2 and we really enjoy playing with bots.
We get good laughs out of their somewhat funny behaviors :P

IMO, the bot that poses the most challenge is Razor. He's the scariest bot as of now. Razor + Tidehunter = tough challenge.

Tidehunter is spot on with his ultimate every single time. He does rush for blink too. That makes it a deadly combo.
