  • [C] Mana Drain break distance considers the target's height, unlike other link-spells

Linking spells break when their target moves too far away. All linking spells only consider x and y position. They ignore the target's height. Except for Mana Drain.

    Repro:
    1. Pick Lion and level up Mana Drain
    2. Create an enemy hero
    3. Create a Tiny and level up Toss
    4. Cast Mana Drain on the enemy from max cast range
    5. Cast Toss on the enemy so that it is moved straight upwards
    6. Repeat this, but use Life Drain, or Spirit Siphon or Static Link, instead of Mana Drain as a comparison

Result: Mana Drain gets canceled by Toss. Mana Drain considers height and Toss throws the target out of range. Other linking spells are not canceled, they fully ignore Z position.

Expected: Mana Drain ignores the height of the target like how other linking spells do.

    Please, just call me buny.

      ent_setpos *unit ID* x y z

you can find the unit ID by using "ent_text" console command

      requires sv_cheats to be on

          ent_text
This will toggle the entity text display for the entity under your crosshair, if any. Note that this only works for entities that are solid (i.e. can be "hit" by the trace).

Example if you want to get the text for Anti Mage:
          ent_text npc_dota_hero_antimage

          Source: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Ent_text

          ent_setpos

          ent_setpos ID X Y Z

          Example:
          ent_setpos 123 100 100 50

You need to find the exact location you want the units to be at by altering the values. The Z-Index is the height.

You can see the ID of the units with the ent_text command (on display).
