    I don't think there is a spell without cooldown that does trigger Essence Aura. You would have to come up with an example. In turn, there are ~20 item abilities that cost mana and have a cooldown but don't trigger Essence Aura in Dota 2 while they do so in DotA 1.
    If you say my idea is retarded then you have to give a reason.

      Actually... Rearm was supposed to be able to trigger the Essence Aura (tested on 6.75 Test Map), but it doesn't trigger it on Dota 2. (at least it didn't on my several tries...)
      Has this ever been reported?

      Edit: Plus, there are some toggle-able spells, that have cooldowns on early levels (like Viper's Poison Attack), and cost mana, and does not (at least not supposed to) trigger Essence Aura. Your way of ruling looks good and simple, but still there are some exceptions, therefore it is not viable.

        • Does anyone know if something like the Damage Return ability of Blade Mail is even recorded in one of the text files or is it directly in game code? I can only find the cooldown and mana costs but nothing indicating the fact, that the item returns any damage:

              • In dota 2, are there different attack and armor types just like in wc3 (piercing, normal, hero, chaos, light, heavy, siege armor etc...) but the problem is... How do you read them? in the files all you can find is

                            • Download GCFScape, open pak01_dir.vpk, navigate to root->scripts->npc, and there you have npc_heroes/abilities/units.txt files
