  • Resurrect doesnt waste corpses

    Summary:
Troll Warlords Resurrect doesnt remove corpses. Corpses can be reused to resurrect or other spells (like Pit of Malice).

    Repro:
    1. Enable -wtf
    2. Stand next to a Troll Warlord with Radiance

    Result:
Hordes of Skeletons spawn after the first troll dies.

    Expected Result:
Not more than 1 Resurrection should be castable on a Corpse, afterwards it should be removed from the game.

You know this was reported before right http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=9359

Although strange, I thought this was in the list. Added anyway.

I dont think the concept of corpses even exists in the game yet.

Of course it does, how else can troll warlords raise skeletons from them?

Troll warlord no longer needs corpses to make skeletons.

From what i saw, the troll actually don't need corpse to spawn skeleton, he need som1 to die near him. (for neutral part)

I saw those two case (doesn't happen all the time tought), which tend to suggest that not converted troll can use raise skeleton without corpse, (a bit similar to the hill troll that was healing and attacking in same time ^^)

Aggro the 3 trolls out, kill the 2 little, come back like 1 minutes later, the big troll will instant cast raise skeleton, even thought they were never ever been some corpse near him.

kill one troll hit the big one, he will cast raise skeleton. Come back much latter, attack the big troll, he will cast again raise skeleton.
So either he doesn't consume corpse, or he doesn't need corpse, but coupled with this:
-clean spot till you have troll (each time you clean the spot like 5 sec before new one spawn, so corpse are still there, attack the big troll, no skeleton summoned.

So mostlikely the ia is: see somthing die near, cast raise skeleton next time you get hit, or after X secondes of fighting

Here is a matchID : 671544394 with Sand king in the jungle. (All times are replay times)

I also found somewhere that corpses are supposed to last for 17 seconds, but I am not totally sure about that one. Playdota says 15-20 seconds, ~17

So the first creep dies at 5:57 replay time. Corpses last for 17 seconds, so it should expire by 6:14.
At 6:24, I go to pull again but the Troll summons creeps with no corpses.
Next creep dies 6:50 and 6:51 (corpse removal 7:07 and 7:08 respectively). At 7:24, when I go to pull again, creeps are summoned again.
Next creeps die 7:52, 7:54, :55, and 8:00, when more spawns are summoned (correctly this time). But at 8:27, the Troll summons AGAIN. So 1 corpse potentially was used for spawning twice (which is also wrong), or it used the oldest corpse, dont know how that is decided.

Another thing I found was that corpse duration in dota 2 is totally wrong (like 6 seconds vs 17 seconds) and that a corpse is not needed and consumed for the spell.
So to reproduce the first thing, the corpse duration, you simple grab a Troll in wtf mode and kill 1 thing and summon creeps for 6 seconds. Should only be able to happen once, but this is more related to WTF mode, not too important just helps test corpse length (consumption is not an issue).
But the second is a bit more interesting, the necessity for a corpse for the spell. I found that you only need a corpse to initiate the spell, not at actual cast time. Right before a corpse disappears, cast voids ult (not on the corpse, just on the Troll) and in the split second before, start summoning. The corpse will disappear, but the troll will still summon after the ult has finished (summoning under player control with no corpse).

What Miambox said is probably correct, having the summon queued up until next aggro or time or whatever. I guess it would be more proper to say that the Troll needs to see a corpse, which initiates the sequence of summoning, but doesn't exactly need a corpse to summon, and neutral camps are "paused" in a sense that certain actions will persist through deaggro.
