  • [Unconfirmed] rubick spell steal illuminate

rubick can cast illuminate without channeling it

confirmed it earlier in my game

    repro:
lvl up rubick to lvl 6 and get spell steal
get ezalor and let him use illuminate
    spell steal it
cast rubick spell steal skill "illuminate"
    walk after using it
there is a ghost of rubick channeling it

    expected result:
rubick must channel it unless he spell steal ghost form of ezalor then spell steal illuminate

again tested and confirm even if ezalor is in ghost form or in original form

Can you post the matchid please? I cannot reproduce this issue and everything seems to work fine for me.

If I steal the cast he used in Spirit Form, Rubick gains the same benefit of having a spirit casting illuminate.
If I steal the cast he used not in Spirit Form, Rubick has to stand still channeling illuminate to get it's full effect.

So I guess the question is, does Rubick have to be in Spirit Form to use the Spirit Form version of Illuminate. If you steal Illuminate while Rubick is in spirit form but KOTL is not, do you use the non-spirit form version then, even if Rubick is in spirit form himself?

it would be much more consistent with other spells such as dragon tail, if illuminate was the normal version, if rubick is in his normal form,
and the spirit version, if rubick went into spirit form previously, regardless of which illuminate he actually stole from kotl.

i take it, it doesnt work that way yet?

          - Fixed Rubick stealing Keeper's Spirit Form Illuminate.
          http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=48597

My guess: It's intended as it is now. (both Illuminate versions have different icons, so maybe a different "spellid", too.)

so, it doesnt work that way yet?
            that doesnt make any sense.

adding a link to this thread to the rubick consistency discussion.

              match ID is 28656855

sorry for late reply had to sleep that time

the time it happen was around lvl 16+ (thats the time i get ezalor's illuminate because of our disadvantage with lanaya) at first i thought it needs to do some channeling but i noticed rubick is doing a normal attack while doing illuminate. at 2nd use i try to leave the area and i saw the ghost form illuminate of rubick

I don't understand what's this about. You stole Illuminate while he was in Spirit Form. You get the Spirit Form version. Seems normal to me. It's a different spell than the normal one that's why you get the improved version.

as already said in the other thread, there is a reason, why ezalor himself has only 40 seconds to use spirit-illuminate and rubick having 300 seconds is a little too strong.
