  • [Confirmed] shift-order queuing is not possible due to auto-attack (ON)

I still have issues figuring out exactly what the problem is, but I will try to explain it as good as I can:

    Summary:
Adding abilities and/or items to the ability queue (shift-click) in a 'certain' order can cause either an 'auto-attack everything' command to be added in between queued abilities, or everything in the queue after that ability to be cancelled.

    Repro:
Buy blink dagger and BKB on on ie Nevermore. Level up to 6 (not needed, but makes it easier to understand the impact). 1. Right click in blink range of enemy creeps creeps
    2. Before your hero walks all the way to the designated area: hold shift while using blink dagger next to creeps, hold shift and use Black King Bar and Requiem of Souls

    Result:
Hero will walk to designated area, blink in, use bkb, start attacking creeps, once all creeps are dead he will use Requiem of Souls.

    Expected:
Hero walks to designated area, blinks in, use bkb, cast Requiem of Souls and then start auto attacking creeps.

Note: Checking/unchecking the 'auto-attack' configuration doesn't change anything, this shouldn't happend even if it's on though.

    Variations:

This happens on every hero (both melee and ranged) I have tested and not just ultimates, ie, you can swap out Requiem of Souls with shadowraze in the repro for the same effect. You can also swap out dagger with shadowraze and bkb with shivas guard (ie):

    Repro:

    1. Shiftclick next to creeps
    2. Shift-click shadowraze
    3. Shift-click Shivas Guard
    4. Shift-click Shadowraze
(step 2-4 before hero reaches area targeted in step 1).

    Result:
Walks in, cast Shadowraze, cast Shivas Guard, auto-attacks creeps and towers until nothing left, cast shadowraze

    Expectaions:
Walks in, cast shadowraze, cast shivas guard, cast shadowraze, auto-attack creeps.

(different levels of shadowraze, so no cooldown)

Note: It looks like the ability in step 2 has to be either an ability or blinkdagger (havent tested all abilities/items, I would guess it works with forcestaff aswell).
Ability in step 3 has to be an item (tested bkb, shivas and manta style, manta style actually stops all commands from happening, so it cancels step 4).
Step 4 has to be an ability. Needs more testing, I am not 100% sure that this is the case.

I concur. Please fix this, it has been a huge disturbance. I have spoke of this a couple of months ago and it is still bugged. In Dota 1, I normally cast EUL scepter on self, then shift que QQWR for ghost walk, then spam V. However, auto-attacking enemies is prioritized.

Are steam developers focusing on new heroes rather than fixing current bugs? Why doesn't any technical support respond?

If enemy creeps are nearby, Invoker still cannot EUL self, then shift que ghost walk. This problem has remained since May 2012!

ah ok i thought theres only a simple autoattack after using skills or items but its actually an A-move on your position.

                          this is even worse

This bug has been occurring since May 2012. Can someone give us an idea when this will be fixed?
