Forum Rules

  • [Confirmed] POTM ultimate MoonLight Shadow gives away real enemy hero

    Replay: enemy have Mirana + a random hero with Manta style (for example a hero which needs it, an Ogre Mage!)

    Repro:
    1) Mirana uses moonlight shadow
    2) Other enemy hero gets invisibility after fade time, uses manta style -> you see the real one by an icon above him

    In dota1 only initial animation was present, making manta after fade time not be revealed by Mirana ultimate

    It's easily reproduced

      I can confirm that, buff icon should be visible only to allies, now it makes very easy to identify real hero during fade time.

      PS. Please don't bump threads after 1 hour...wait at least day, and if no one replied, "bump" it.

        buff effects from moonlight shadows werent visible to enemies in wc3 dota?

          effects are "visible" (slow fading) in wc3, but it much more noticeable in d2

            the illusions dont have the slow fadetime in wc3 dota either.
            looks pretty much not like a bug then.

              it's not about illusions fading, it's about that "moon" icon. It's like KILL ME pointer. Another example - use ulti, then use manta and attack, hero will not fade again, but in dota 2 you 100% sure where real hero is. I will make video bit later...

                  You did not get it.. In wc 3 if u stand in manta and just autoattack you Will NOT get a tiny portion of fade effect at ALL, making manta giving its full use in mirana ult. In dota2 it is, as said above - any situation kill me sign for no reason

                        Do note in your sticky that it has to apply for all illusions in Mirana's team.

                        Fixing it just for Mirana is not enough.

                        The exact same situation can happen for other heroes with illusion skills or purchased Manta.


                        PS: Should be more specific that its the Moon Sign above the hero that is giving all the information away.
                        He's the hero this community deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt his identity, because he can take it, because he's not our hero. He's a silent buffer, a watchful nerfer. An IceFrog.

                          i thought, i made that clear already.
                          Moonlight Shadow Visual gives away the real hero when using Manta and attacking (should only show when the hero is fading)
