  • [Fixed] QoP's Shadow Strike still active when buybacking

    Summary:
Queen of Pain's Shadow Strike ability is still active when the targeted unit buybacks. Although she casted Shadow Strike before the target died (and bought back from death). I am not sure if this is important. But it seems the dagger projectile from the Shadow Strike ability hit me after my hero died and the dot and slow effect was shown on my hero when I was dead. I bought back and still had the dot and slow effect on me. Match ID is 39913063 and watch the Necrolyte on 26:50 ingame clock or 31:41 replay clock. Also click on hero perspective and my hero doesn't show I have the dot, but player perspective shows I have it. Nevertheless when I leave my fountain I clearly slowly lose health, have decreased movement speed and my hero has reddish color and a dagger in it's back - Shadow Strike effect.

    Repro Steps:
Well I presume playing against QoP and if you die while the Shadow Strike dagger/projectile is flying will trigger this if you buyback. I am not sure if it will be triggered if the projectile hits you while you're still alive.

    Result:
You will spawn in the fountain with the Shadow Strike debuff - take damage overtime, have decreased move speed and your hero's graphical animation will clearly show your hero having the debuff.

    Expected Result:
Shouldn't units be debuff free when they buyback ? At least in the majority of cases.

Yes, they should. Else it is a bug. Sad there are some people who don't understand it.

All debuffs should. There shouldn't be exceptions.

According to DotA1, no. Rupture, Fatal Bonds, Penitence and other softcoded spells ignore death.

To be more precise, all debuffs disappear on death, but some triggers don't check if the unit died and will still apply (or at least try to apply) if the unit died and if they can apply they will till a certain condition is satisfied (usually a timer ends).

I think the problem with debuffs being preserved through and after reviving is an unwanted "bug". I think ALL debuffs should be cleared when the hero dies.

Absolutely this. And in my opinion that should apply also to instant revives by bloodstones and reincarnation.
Imagine a crystal maiden dying to the bloodseeker ultimate when defending their T3. She immediately buys back and runs/forcestaffs herself towards the battle and dies again.
                  That would NOT be funny.

If you guys think this behaviour is unwanted/undesirable create a thread in brainstorming section about if this is intended or not.

Some debuffs get reapplied though. Battle hunger for example, but i think that death ends it, too.
