  • [Confirmed] Glimpse Teleports a recently revive unit to their location before death

Something I have noticed a while and doesn't seem to be reported, if you glimpse a unit that has just revived, it will teleport back to where they died before.

Most likely it is related to the same thing that causes the Weaver Time Lapse Bug: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=29820

      It's intended?
I remember doing this in DotA 1

still not nearly as bad or as stupid as bloodstone/buyback revive placing you beside pudge if you died from the hook damage and bought back/revived before your corpse reached pudge

No. I DotA1, when your hero dies and dissipates, it doesn't has any location.
I Dota2 however, your hero stays at his death point the whole time, until he revives, which causes this bug with Glimpse.

Heroes dont dissipate (I mean they dont decay like normal corpses). They stay where they died.

No, In DotA1, or general in WC3, the heroes dissipate (they turn transparent and dissapear). After a few seconds (differs from unit to unit, as it's adapted to the death and dissipate animation time), they are removed from the map, so they have no location.

Also decaying and dissipating are 2 different things in WC3.

Please don't spread false information and test it in wc3 first.

It is working as intended, just like it does in Dota 1. It is not a bug!

the question is whether this should work without recasting glympse on an instant revive (bloodstone) or rebuy.

Only non-hero units are removed from the map. Heroes still exist after the dissipation and their location is still where they died. You will notice this if you get a global kill after you die and this causes your hero to level up. The level up animation is played where you died. You yourself are confusing dissipating with decaying.
EDIT: I tested it in DotA 1, and the same thing happens, regardless whether you respawned within 4 seconds or more than that.

Yes it is a bug.Happened to me some matches ago when i was playing as Furion, insta rebuy to tp top lane and died again,i was wondering what happened. And btw, just because something was bugged in Dota 1 doesnt mean it has to stay that way in Dota 2,im pretty sure this is not an intended use of gimpse.
