    Summary:
    Windrunner casts her Windrun instantly.

    Reproduction Steps:
    1. Get a Windrunner
    2. Skill up the Windrun
    3. Walk towards a direction
    4. Cast Windrun


    Result:
    Windrun is casted without delay, without any pause on Windrunners motion.

    Expected Result:
    A brief casting animation where Windrunner risks standing still for a short while in order to gain massive speed.

      False expected result. Windrunner didn't have a cast point for Windrun in DotA, either. The only difference being the fact that in Dota 2 it in no longer has cast backswing which was evidently not cancelled in the video.

              imo backswing(of any spells) is totally unnecessary apart from adding more clicks and making u feel pro?
              as i can remember crystal maiden in dota2 also doesnt have her notorious long backswing(it is 2.4 sec in dota1)
              and btw not every spell in dota1 has backswing(wtf? where is the logic? oh "pros" would say "it is balanced liked that" B-S-)

                    backswing is quite a nice thing to scale the pace of the game.
                    on a newby level nobody will consistently cancel it and the games are a bit easier to oversee.
                    you will play the heroes according to their role (e.g. cm will most likely not carry against pa).
                    with practice players will notice that they can control their hero more efficiently and eventually move up into another skill level, where they in fact can make a difference with any hero.

                    it's basically a simplified version of the game, if you dont use backswing canceling.

                      i am not going to argue on that, coz i know it's useless. but seriously, what cast backswing serves? first of all it is just cosmetic. second it deos not have a function in gameplay.(is it even used for balance? i never see changelogs mentioned this...) of course dota needs certain skills but isnt it hard enough for its players? personally i really prefer to cancel backswing

                            The balance will come from shift queue, if you remove it I can easily shift queue spells and it will be quite retarded, with the backswing I can't shift queue spells cause there is no way with shift queue to cancel the backswing which will just increase the timing by a lot.

                              No you haven't. I've seen the back swing/animation cancel done in every game. It has never been a supreme godlike counter force to skill. It is annoying as hell and distracting on occasion. But it does nothing to allow you to last hit better, nor does it allow you to ks better, the ONE backswing cancel can help if your a melee hero chasing another hero. But not only is it already in game it really works (Right click once after casting and move on) its a matter of personal reaction time and nothing else. Do you remember the original use for animation cancels and back swing cancels? To get more Actions Per Minute for stats, since any cancel action typically takes at least 3 actions (Click, cancel, re click). Place this on the back burner and get the game actually working before you worry about things like this.
