    Summary:

    Alright, so we all know that there's a radius around enemy deaths that gives gold and XP bonus. This works properly when players are killed by other players or by their faction but doesn't work appropriately when they die to any other source.

    Repro:

    1) Pick any hero and spawn an enemy pudge (or any other hero capable of suicide)
    2) get the enemy hero to kill themself near you

    Result:

    No XP, no gold for suicides and denies, only gold given for death to neutrals.

    Expected result:

    Gold based upon the following table:

    1 Hero: 12*LevelOfDyingHero + 125
    2 Heroes: 10*LevelOfDyingHero + 40
    3 Heroes: 10+6*LevelOfDyingHero *** May be incorrect (inconsistent with Playdota gold mechanics page, but not listed in changelog)
    4 or 5 Heroes: 6*LevelOfDyingHero

    and XP based upon the following table:

    1 Hero: 120+20*LevelOfDyingHero
    2 Heroes: 90+15*LevelOfDyingHero
    3 Heroes: 30+7*LevelOfDyingHero
    4 Heroes: 15+6*LevelOfDyingHero
    5 Heroes: 10+5*LevelOfDyingHero

      IDK, it's a pretty huge change for them to make unannounced, large indirect buff to pudge, TECHIES (huge, huge buff) and a few others... I honestly think oversight, especially because HALF of the death to neutrals works as expected...

        ^why it's buff to pudge and techies? u said only killed by neutrals, and every hero can killed by neutrals...i might have lost some information here?

          You get NOTHING if they suicide or get denied (0 xp, 0 gold no matter how close or far), and you only get gold when they die to neutrals, based on the tables I provided (from playdota) (0 xp, 137 gold for 1 hero in 1000 radius of the lvl 1 enemy's death)

          So it is inconsistent in itself anyway.

            ^ahhh, damn it. i misunderstood the expected results... still it contradicts to my knowledge, as i thought deny or suicide gives 0 gold and exp. (need dota mythbuster!)

              ^I am going to bed. If no one confirms/makes a video for me I'll do it in the morning. The "assist" gold (proximity gold really) and experience are still given, but no bounty from getting the actual kill is given. But it's still a substantial difference.

                Heroes that are in a 1000 area and not being the killer will be granted a certain amount of reliable gold, depending on total heroes in that area.

                • 1 Hero: 95+9*LevelOfDyingHero
                • 2 Heroes: 20+8*LevelOfDyingHero
                • 3 Heroes: 10+6*LevelOfDyingHero
                • 4 or 5 Heroes: 6*LevelOfDyingHero

                Assists only give gold if Sentinel or Scourge gets the kill.

                  The gold is NOT related to assists. That is just saying that regardless of whether or not you actually damage the hero you will get gold and XP for being in the radius. It is referring to when the gold is split for a sentinel (radiant) / scourge (dire) kill. I.e. player 1 and player 2 each deal damage to grant an assist to player 7 [enemy] who then dies to the scourge. Both get assists, and the gold is split evenly to those 2 heroes, both still recieve the bonus gold/xp for being in the 1000 radius.

                  The page is EMPHASISING that assists do not USUALLY grant gold. (so creeps MUST get the last hit for the stat recorded as an assist to give you any gold at all, otherwise it is independant).

                      This is a pretty major bug, if only because it happens fairly often, which has been in the game since day 1. (surely it was known before october?)

                      Any plans to fix it?

                        It's been in the game for so long, it might be intended.



                        Just kidding, this should be fixed at least before they release Techies (i.e. probably never).

                            i'm a little confused. how is it a buff to techies? does techies die first when he uses suicide?

                              If he misses suicide you give the enemy team gold + xp. If you suicide 1 target, you give the enemy team gold + xp. Also it's not a huge nerf to doom/veno because they're usually out of XP range when the hero gets denied anyway... In which case you would get NOTHING, good day sir!
