  • [Confirmed] Rubick performs Greater Bash upon passing through units, when using CoD

    Summary:
When Rubick steals and uses Charge of Darkness from Barathrum, he performs a Greater Bash to any units he passes through.

    Repro:
    1) Pick Rubick, level him up to get ulti.
    2) Create enemy Barathrum, use Charge of Darkness and steal it with Rubick.
    3) Use Charge of Darkness with Rubick, so that he passes through enemy units before reaching the target.

    Result:
Rubick performs a Greater Bash to any units he passes through.

    Expected Result:
Rubick doesn't damage/bash units he passes through, as he hasn't "learned" Greater Bash.

It uses the level of bash learned by Barathum.

Same as casting requiem = using souls number which SF had upon steal.

      Intended imo.

Yes, both scenarios are same (lvl 25 Rubick and Bara).

I've also tested it in wc3, Rubick dont bash, but I also think this is intended as SF's ult.
Some staff need to say something or else AFAIK this really is a bug.

For me it's a bug. What's the point to level bash when you can level CoD and stun anyone else on the way?

CoD Great Bash should be according to the level of the Bash, if there's no Greater Bash leveled, so no bash when doing CoD

I think it's a bug, there is no point of buffing Rubick that way. For SF and Luna ultimates you need souls and beam, but for Charge you dont need bash to use basic features of skill ("charge" and stun).

Anyway it doesnt proc Greater bash in WC3, so it's a bug

Charge is rather bad without Greater Bash, and like I mentioned this was intentionally changed during a Test Client patch to act the way it does right now.
                  I'm still calling it intended.

how can you call 2.4s stun and 750ms chase/escape "bad"?

Because without the Greater Bash to stun people on the path you're piss easy to interrupt.
And mind you when this was made to act this way Charge was quite a bit slower.

The way I see it is simple, this spell mentions Greater Bash in it's tooltip, hence it takes that. It's just like how if you steal spells from Death Prophet they are buffed by Witchcraft, even though you do not have that. This also occurs in WC3, so going by that logic I'm more inclined to say Charge is an oversight in WC3.

Well, the behaviour is different, so it should be noted as bug.

Anything more than that belongs to the brainstorming/playdota suggestions forum I guess.

I am almost entirely sure that W3 DotA will be fixed instead of Dota 2.
                            Same reasons with Arxos.

Rubick's Spell Steal intends to mimic whatever the original caster has done on his/her last performance.
