  • Centaur 's Stampede - Collision

    In DotA1, Centaur's Stampede makes himself and all allies have zero collision. This means one is able to walk trough units, buildings, cliffs, trees, etc (like one can do while under the effect of Spectre's Spectral Dagger) .
    This effect is not in DotA2: neither Centaur nor his allies receive zero collision and are able to walk trough said objects.

    This is a very severe bug in my opinion, as it leaves a good aspect of Centaur's ultimate out.

    Please, do not argue about balance in this thread. It is intended with a probability of 1 (see Centaur's playdota hero page).

    didnt they remove that aspect?
    i think stampede used to allow players to pass through cliffs, etc but they changed it to only affect unit collisions.
    this is just my foggy memory speaking though.

      6.76 changelog

      Grants you and all allied player units on the map max movement speed and zero unit collision for a short duration. Any enemy units you or your allies come into collision with take some damage and get stunned. Enemies can only be affected by stampede impact once.

      Duration: 3/4/5
      Damage: 100/150/200 + 2x your str
      Stun: 1.25 seconds
      Stampede Collision AoE: 120

      Cooldown: 65
      Mancost: 50

      Note: Does not affect magic immune enemies




      The dota map you played is probably bugged.

        Just tested this in both .76 and .77
        Cents ult does give zero collision at all.
        Its either an error with the skill or an error in the changelog.

          this is a dota 1 bug, it should work like in Dota 2

              I indeed opened my topic after testing it with the latest dota1 map, which does allow it, however you are also right about what the changelog says. So after all we have to clarify it in dota1 first.

                Intended change list is for dota 2. Which is why its a "change"
                So if you're changing the current dota 1 interaction then having it be zero collision with ONLY UNITS is the intended change.

                  iam not sure but i think i already saw a post by icefrog who said that the interaction in dota 1 is wrong, because it wasnt planed to give units "kinda flying movement". Can't find the statement atm.

                    Well, I don't know what's holding them to fix it on DotA.
                    They just have to make it work like Phase Boots instead of Spectral Dagger.

                    And I have just tested, you still can path through trees and cliffs on DotA 6.77b official map.


                    The link for the IceFrog's confirmation on the Intended Changes List is broken. And even if it wasn't, the thread is hidden. I remember that thread, IceFrog had just stated that "There wasn't any change intended on Stampede."
                    I still think that W3 DotA version is broken, but it can be fixed, and it's still not, so I began thinking that that is the intended behavior, so this should be a bug...

                        I reported this "bug" already and IF told me it was a bug in dota1. So..Don't know.. It's a nice aspect of running over cliffs.

                          If I remember correctly it was:

                          Test Client with cent, first thread:
                          1st post) stampede OP can move through cliffs
                          2nd ) IceFrog: can anyone confirm this?
                          3rd) nope, only d1 issue

                          And some other statements which rather clearly meant in d2 this is the intended behavior. I do not remember anything what would suggest otherwise (like IceFrog taking back his statement (which one btw?)).

                          That thread: [Intended] Stampede not allowing to pass impassable terrain was set as Intended and if any mods have better privilege perhaps the link which is inside has clarification.

                          Few speculation as for dota1 :
                          If this would be coded as phaseboots it would probably screw crits (like phase boots did in d1) and would be canceled by casting spells, because phaseboots are based on windwalk (but visible).
                          No easy fix for this is possible as far as I know (when You want full duration and castability), but even if - that's not the point of this thread.

                              for some unknown reason i can not reach the link listed in the thread tagged as intended.
                              i am quite certain i could see it before though.
