  • [Confirmed] ion shell works on ancients

Alright. So the fix is ACTUALLY wrong. You can still ion shell black drakes (ancients) hence as I was saying the WHOLE TIME in the other thread the fix was wrong.

So... Yeah... They did change it for resistant skin, NOT ancients as they should've.

Well, nobody said it was fixed on ancients, but "special units".
I don't think we can say it's "incorrect", it's just not "total fix".
Happens every patch... (like fixing thunderclap being purgeable, moving units under SotS etc)

This exactly. You have to be crystal clear with your wording to avoid time being wasted with trying to fix something that's not wrong.

Wow I missed this test, just tried with Golem/SpiritBear/Familiars/HoTD/Chen and it was working ok.

The dragons dont get damaged though.

But it shouldn't be creep heroes, it should just be ancients. This is my WHOLE ARGUMENT... Saying it doesn't work on creep heroes is like saying you can't cast it on either heroes OR creeps... Spells that affect both similarly work exactly the same, like ion shell.

                from update 1
Dark Seer: Fixed being able to cast Ion Shell on special units like Spirit Bear and Warlock's Golem
is he now able to cast it on spirit bear or not :/, "fixed" implies nothing

"Fixed being able to do X" normally implies "being able to do X was wrong, we fixed it".

You shouldn't even be able to cast it on the big dragon though since it's magic immune. The only skills that you should have this type of interaction with are any ultimate skills, where almost all of them can be used on magic immune units, just not taking any damage or added effects.

^not the big dragon, the little dragon... It was just proof that it could still be cast on "ancients"

Also in mine the little dragons got hurt by ion shell :/

Re-tested both in DotA and Dota 2, the little dragons DO get damaged by Ion Shell in Dota 2, and they shouldn't (apart from not being able to cast on them which is another bug).

I think thats what the fix was about.

^no. The fix was about being able to cast it on spirit bear etc. not about damaging them.

Anyway, I tested it myself. All ancients except spirit bear should be immune to the damage from ion shell. I don't know why spirit bear is an exception, but it is.
