    Bumping this because Ember Spirit was released.
    Flame Guard behaves in the same way as Pipe. It absorbs March of the Machines and Midnight Pulse while it should NOT do that. Doom works correctly with both Pipe and Flame Guard.

    Doom is no longer absorbed by Barrier, tested in the main client.
    March of the Machines and Midnight Pulse are still absorbed though, so it is only partially fixed.

    Does this mean that's it's the damage type rather than the attack type that determines if it should be absorbed?

    Edit what the hell DOES determine whether it is blocked? I tried brain sap, not blocked. Echo slam, blocked. Midnight pulse, not blocked. I can't seem to find a pattern for whether it's the DT or the AT.

    Doom, March and Midnight Pulse damage are all ignored by Pipe's Barrier in DotA, tested in Warcraft 3.

    I think you can go ahead and create/ask to move those threads to the Gameplay Bug section.

    Hello,

    in short: does Pipe's Barrier absorb universal damage (March of the Machines, Doom, Midnight Pulse) in WC3 DotA? It does absorb it in Dota 2 according to my tests (all three spells).

    I am currently testing Doom interactions with other abilities and items in Dota 2 and comparing it to this guide. I found several differences already, one confirmed here (thanks Noya). Another one is Doom being absorbed by Pipe's Barrier.
    I plan on posting side by side comparison of the guide and my tests later this week (hopefully). This however affects other abilities as well, so it would deserve its own thread.
