  • Shukuchi is missing debuff icon on enemies it affected

Surely was there for balance purposes.
It was easier to say that whether Weaver has passed through you or not, plus...
it allowed enemy to detect Weaver's Shukuchi level.

Personally, I used to pay attention to that a lot.

The status buff was only there to prevent a unit to get affected by shuckuchi multiple times. That was the very only purpose. If shuckuchi would last longer than the debuff, than you could hurt that unit again after the debuff wears off.

And level doesn't show in Dota2 anyway, on none of the debuffs. And I also think it's easy enough to tell when he passed through you.. the visuals are clear enough.
    Please, just call me buny.

There is a way easier method to track struck units, no one would ever use a buff for it.
There is a visual, but it is harder to track. The buff would be fine IMO.
If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.

That's the point. Icefrog did. If you look at the codings of many heroes, especially te old ones, you'll notice many odd things.

That's not the point. He could use other methods and remove the buff. This only means that he wanted the buff (and therefore can use it for tracking).

Or to say it in other words: it's a visual difference that could easily be avoided in Dota 1. We also track such simple bugs.

And buffs that are bounded to levels of abilities do show levels when you hover your mouse over them. Shukuchi's damage effect is coded to be like that:
You actually can see that directly from my picture, too. It just shows the levels.

Yes, I know, there are ways to hide the icon (though when you hover over it the tooltip still pops up), or to even code it so that it doesn't use it at all. The reason why it doesn't get changed is it just works fine the way it was coded, even when it's odd, so why change it?

Buffs and debuffs have the function to show you that you got something applied on you, but shukuchi doesn't do anything after damaging you once.

I was reffering to Dota2. None of the debuffs show the level the skill is on.
                E: Buffs however do.

Oh well, it still is an inconsistancy.
Maybe add Gyro's Rocket Barrage and Omniknight's Purification, too, because they use buffs/debuffs, too. :|

Just because it's easy to add / remove doesn't mean it's intentional. Look at Linkens interactions to see what I mean.

edit: WTF is a Purification buff / debuff even meant to show?

Linken's is a heavily bugged item in DotA1. It all could be fixed but it's too time consuming.

Purification's status buff isn't meant to show anything. I don't really know the purpose. Fact is that it's there for a splitsecond. It has frost armor as icon and tooltip.

I'm just meaning that we shouldn't assume it's intended / not intended based on ease of coding. It's easy for IF to check for Linkens with, say, Force Staff, and yet he doesn't, which the Advanced Mechanics guys think is just down to laziness.

In that case, I'd say pointless buffs like that shouldn't be added under any circumstances (and should probably be removed from Dota 1 as cleanup). If the icon doesn't show anything, it shouldn't exist. Adding it for Shukuchi makes sense though, because you can't be damaged twice by it.
