    wards last 45 seconds
    they should last for 40 seconds

    Playdota is incorrect, in-game skill description in DotA is also incorrect...
    The skill directly uses a base ability without any fancy triggered additions to it. It is simply the Serpent Ward ability with increased count and etc..

    Line number 8-9, 17-18, 26-27 and 35-36.
    I don't really know what is the difference for Duration and Hero Duration for such an ability...
    But I did test in the latest version of DotA to make sure. Mass Serpent Ward lasts 40 seconds there.

    What I constantly fail to understand is why there are so many inconsistencies between the PD/dota1 IN-GAME descriptions and the actual numbers...

              Dota 1 tooltips are rather crudely written, there's no form in it, it's not that odd to see incorrect information like that.
              Also, mistakes like these are very easily made.

                Most mistakes like these are easily corrected, too. Changing the text of a tooltip would take about 5 minutes if a dev was trying to stretch their hours out. I think many dota 2 players like myself are frustrated and confused by the lack of refinement going in to Dota 2. I must say that it's a beautiful and wonderous game, but still, many of these old, old bugs are very, very easy fixes.

                  Supposedly they're working on features behind the scenes (refer to cyborgmatt's blog). There are a fair few refinements that need to be done.
