Can confirm that it's different, but can't confirm whether or not it's intended.

DotA 1 allowed certain abilities and items with 0 casting time to be used.

Is scream of pain/heat seeking missile/echo slam type spells disabled in d1?

it doesn't even silence you. there's no need to assume everything's an intended fix until proven otherwise.

we tested a fan of knives type ability. they're correctly unusable in both.

Thought I read about this a while ago but can't find the bloody thread, but I'm pretty sure it was dependend on whether or not a spell had a casting timer.

In dota 1 if you spam stop button you will cancel attacks. http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=39982 So if you have 0 cast animation spells or items you will be able to use them in dota 1. It may sound as insignificant but it makes Winter Wyvern ultimate useless because you can stop attacking your allies.

As far as I remember you can spam stop and manage not able to attack in call. In Dota 2 you cannot do it.

This is actually a limitation in WC3 engine. The listed spells cannot be canceled via triggers.

Berserker's call basically works like this

Every 0.25 second order affected unit to attack axe
When affected unit issues an point-/target-order or an order without target, stop that issued order and order it to attack axe.

Since those spells can't be stopped like that, they still take effect.

It seems like an intended fix, but we can never know.

I'm pretty sure, that a trigger checking on spellcast (not effect) if the unit is affected by berserkers call and stopping it, would PERFECTLY fix the issue.
EDIT2: Woah, I should completly read it. I was sure that you could stop all skills. Should check it.
EDIT3: Hey, I can still learn stuff about the editor. Seems like this case was to rare :x

You guys thought it was intended. Every spell on there is affected because of it.

                        Wut, are you serious?
I don't really think that it is by any means hard to silence the units that have been grouped for the Berserker's Call

And what Quiesce has linked is not the same thing, but slightly likely to be the cause for this one.

it could be fixed in Dota1 as well if they could be asked.

--> Simply make Axe the heroes attacking Axe/effect by buff unselectable. This does what buffs axe by an extra 0.01 second duration cc as you would be spamming f1/ctrl group 1 to select your hero again .._..

There are also numerous other ways you could simply code this, for example remove move hold position etc commands.

I never said it's not fixable in DotA1, it's just the way it is coded right now. Those spells not being cancelable via triggers is the engine limitation I talked about.

^Making them getting unselectable would have some impact on gameplay.

Silence is obviously the easiest way.

Also I would like 1 jar of your finest Zap apples please
