    Repro:
    1)Pick dark seer and get Ion shell at lvl 1
    2)get a random enemy unit to stay close to dark seer
    3)Use ion shell on dark seer (lvl 1)
    4)Increase dark seers level and upgrade ion shell

    Result:
    Ion shells' damage does not get increased as it upgrades.

    Expected Result:
    Ion shells' damage increases as it gets upgraded.

      interesting will test
      confirm. though it's quite odd if other spell not work like that. i hope someday such behaviors could be more consistent

          wouldnt hurt to clean all of those interactions up, imho.

                Nope, the already used Ion Shell should have it's damage increased when the spell is upgraded.

                    I don't know, but i will test doom and many other spells.The thing is that many spells' animation is very fast and you can't upgrade the skill that fast (e.g Vengeful Spirit's Magic Missile)

                      no, try with DoT based spells. It will easier to identify.

                        Spread of false information. IIRC the current used ion shell doesnt improve by levleing up. Why should it. You casted it when it had a lower level. It's no aura or somehitng similiar. Works like intended imo

                          Anybody test with Battle Hunger, Shadow Word or maybe Warlock's Golem ? I think i shouldn't be upgraded too so it is normal behavior imo

                            lol, did it really work like that in dota1?

                            Different levels of ion shield even have different mana costs, if it gets "fixed" I, personally, will start abusing that every time. Like pt switching, but one time per skill level up)

                              I've played dota for a long long time, and it's been like this as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure that's the intended mechanic. Recast for upgraded dmg.
