  • [Confirmed] Dark Pact Removes Buffs Before Damaging Slark

It should remove buffs on each tick immediately after damaging Slark. For instance, Decrepifying Slark should cause him to take one amplified instance of Dark Pact; this is currently impossible in Dota 2.

This bug name is not appropriately titled. Please change the name, moderators. This is an extremely severe bug!

The spell is supposed to repeatedly remove harmful effects but it is only doing it once!
I will mercilessly add to my ignore list anyone that makes an incredibly annoying signature.

No, I think you misunderstood this. Read it again.

It's supposed to remove it just once. At the last/first self-damage tick only.

No, I didn't. "It should remove buffs on each tick" is not in the title(and it isn't part of the name of the bug on the list either). Try arguing with me again. I know how the hero's first skill worked in the old game! Slark's the reason I never stopped playing.

            You are wrong.

That quote is taken from his log for the changes in the 6.70 patch.

The pulsing does both buff removal and damage. That means every time he is damaged he gets buffs removed. But not in Dota 2!

            An interesting note:
There is a much more minor bug that if left unfixed while fixing this bug could become much more major all of a sudden!

So if you developers want something fun to do and share, fix this bug and leave the other one unfixed and see what happens in the test client, and then quickly fix the other bug after someone makes some hilarious videos. Seriously though, this bug needs fixing! Obviously we can't have a 600+(really not sure how many pulses it is, but that's a relatively safe estimate for starters) health Slark killing himself from bumping into a cog, so make sure the other bug gets fixed, as well.

It does remove buffs on more than just one tick.

The problem here is that it removes them before doing damage.

I don't want to. I've played over 400 matchmaking games with Slark in Dota 2. I have never seen him in this game remove buffs more than once in a single Dark Pact cast. Maybe you had Aphotic Shield cast on your Slark recently and the experience has corrupted your memory?

They are fighting with a cheat turned on. This excerpt of a combat log is not significant. At any rate, what I'm telling you is that if multiple enemy heroes cast their stuns on Slark so that one forces a Dark Pact cast in order for the others to follow almost immediately afterwards, the extra stun(s) will affect him and Slark will not be removing those buffs because they are taking effect after the one and only instance of buff removal. This pulsing of buff removal was felt by IceFrog to be so important that he even doubled the duration of pulsing so that he could remove buffs over a longer period of time. And yet the buff removal part of the pulsing does not exist in Dota 2. They made it only occur once, and apparently at a wrong timing as well.

just try it in a lobby, you're just refusing to believe proof and saying that you're right without proof

That is not proof of anything I'm discussing at the moment. She used her ability on Slark multiple times(and he used his ability multiple times), are you incapable of reading the combat log or are you just trying to be annoying? Those lines were snatched up to prove something like the damage was wrong or something along those lines. I think the reasoning was that reals were supposed to be used instead of integers, which if that is a bug that hasn't been fixed yet, it absolutely doesn't concern me and has nothing to do with this particular discussion.
