    Hi,

    Game ID 302995706

    I was testing a new strategy and discovered something quite impossible, I got inconsistent and impossible to have dmg.

    Three questions:

    - Why does my illusions deals only 15 dmg when my main hero should deal 886 dmg per hit?
    - Why does my main hero only deals 247 dmg when he should deal much more to the ancient? (The ancient got a shield, of course, but how come does I deal 1/3rd of my dmg?!)
    - Why does sometime I deal 300 dmg, sometimes 247 dmg, sometimes 248?
    - Maybe that it is a linux related issue, can you check the log on your windows based dota2 to see if it corresponds to the screenshot, along with the others values?


    Thanks, I suspect a bug.

    Base Damage has variation...

    Furion's damage at lvl 1 is 45 - 59.


    btw nice strategy you have there, but Manta Illusions don't benefit from Rapier +damage nor Lifesteal

      Illusions don't get the bonus damage.
      Damage value changes, move your mouse to the sword.

        Thanks, but moving my mouse upon the sword doesn't poppup anything above the icon on the replay. I got no information.

        Ok, I got some of my questions answered, but why did my illusions dealt only 16 dmg ? It deals 22% of my main hero base damage. So 22%176 = 38 dmg. The ancient got 13 points of Shield (15 + 5 - 7), it should not deals only 16 dmg right?

        Same question for the 248 dmg, how come? It should deal much more than this right?

            First of all, questions like these should be posted in brainstorming section, and only post in this main section after you've confirmed it is a bug.

            Now onto your questions:
            1.

            Illusions don't get benefit from raw damage item, so out of all your items, the illusions are benefiting from:
            25 intelligence from Orchid
            10 Int and 26 Agility from Manta
            and the 10% ms/as aura from Manta
            The rest does nothing for them.

            2.

            Buildings(and Catapult) have fortified armor type, which reduces hero's auto-attack damage by a further 50%, combine with the armor value on the building itself, is how your're not doing that much damage.

            3. The 300 damage hit aside (I'd have to check replay to be sure, but my guess is you had double damage rune and it runs out between those hits)
            Units have a damage range on them (unlike some other game where you always do the same flat amount of damage)
            In case of Prophet http://www.playdota.com/heroes/prophet
            He's got a 14-damage range between his max hit and lowest

            So far I don't see anything that I'd consider a bug, yet.

              I find the values irrelevant still :/ Can you help me to figure it out please?
              -> The ancient got around, after calculation, 43% dmg reduction. 886*43% = 380 dmg

                your math is wrong :P

                only the TRUE (ex hero dmg with out +dmg) is calculated

                witch leads to: 176 *28%= 13 dmg +-hero dmg
                If you find spelling errors, you are free to take them.

                  Care to show me how you got that 43% reduction 'after calculation'? Unless I know how you got to the wrong answer I can't really tell you why you're wrong.

                    13 armor gives 44% damage reduction, then it is divided by 2 because of armor type. (100-44)/2=28. Your attacks should only deal 28% damage, which is 248,08. I guess somebody on your team also had an AC which reduces enemy's armor by 5 if he is close. With -5 armor your attacks would deal approximately 300 damage. A hero with an AC was in range and then moved further away, I guess it was DK.

                    Also lifesteal doesn't work with Desolator's - armor debuff.

                      i dont even know y u post this since apparently u have watched the replay. what happened is obvious at least to me. u tp to radiant base, and started to attack the ancient with desolator. enemy VS has AC and she moved to the ancient so it received +5 armor buff after ur two hits. the armor is different, so is the damage.

                          Is it because of backdoor that give fountain 25% further damage reduction? I see no Dire's creep in Radiant's base.

                            Backdoor Protection grants 90 HP/s regen, 75% damage reduction to Illusions, and 25% damage reduction to all other units.
