Aghanim Scepter is sellable on Enchantress

  • Aghanim Scepter is sellable on Enchantress

It should not be sellable according to the PlayDota specifications and on Dota1 behaviour -> "Note that Aghanim's Scepter is undroppable on Enchantress."
    http://www.playdota.com/heroes/enchantress

It is not marke as "intended" on the special thread http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=28814

And you should not consider it as intended, for whatever reason, it is not you to decide on whether or not it is intended. Therefore, this is a bug, because, we can sell Aghanim Scepter on Enchantress on Dota2.

If you still want to discuss on whether or not this is intended, go on PlayDota to discuss the features.

This is a bug, and it should get listed.

    What happens:
    - Pick Enchantress, buy Aghanim Scepter
    - Try to sell Aghanim

    What truely happens:
    - You can sell it

    What should happen
    - You can't sell it

Yes, it is not for us to decide.
It's not only unsellable, but also undropable.

The devs were aware of Enchantress' Aghanim's not being undropable in DotA1, but yet it's dropable in Dota2, which hints towards it being an intended change.

The reason why it's undropable in DotA1 is, because the effects it provides (increasing attack range) is not revertable in DotA1. It's an engine limitation.
Same goes for Tiny, whos Aghanim's is undropable in DotA1 aswell for the exact same reason, but not in Dota2.

This problem doesn't exist in Dota2, so there is no reason to make them undropable there.

    I move this to Brainstorming.

Surely though the problem could be fixed simply by just having 2ench heroes. One with the added range one without, instead of using an upgrade. Just create another Ench set stats and hp and mana to same level to same etc give same items. Then remove from game the old ench.

I'm surprised if ice wanted it droppable he never bothered with a work around D=

Or even easier use the chaos ability to transform Ench1 into Ench2. Give it to Ench1 when Aghanim is picked up. Then give a second one to Chaos 2 when it is dropped. Have one of the chaos units effected by The upgrade, and the other not.
Or does that not work? (Havn't tested)

Take a look into the mirror! You think you are completely unfailable. With your limited knowledge, you think that you know more than someone who is very deep in the matter/an expert.

Yes, it could be done with a transformation spell, but they are generally buggy, especially when you try to couple it with item dropping.
Simply exchanging the heroes via triggers would make it dodge incoming projectiles.

Never really experienced any problems with Chaos. They use it loads in all the zombie maps for the different weapons that your survivor can have. (Survivor with gun/hammer etc) with the same (On and off) conditions. I.E Picking/Dropping items.

Valid point on the replacement hero idea. D=

I don't really know about Chaos, but from what I read, it's like the most buggy of all the transformation skills.

              http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=81742
Sca1 (Chaos): Adding a chaos ability to a unit transforms it into the unit type specified in the target unit id field of the ability. This can be used to change any aspect like the proper name or the model of a unit in the game or simply in combination with channel to implement morphing spells. Don't forget to remove the tech requirements from custom chaos abilities. One problem of Chaos is that it adds the morphed unit's current armor, damage, health and mana bonus received from items, auras and srength, agility, intelligence to the stats of the resulting unit. That means it's not a very good idea to morph heroes using chaos until Blizzard fixes those bugs. Ordinary units can't be affected by items and hero stats, so the only problem are buffs received from auras. Those buffs can easily be removed before the conversion and are automatically added again afterwards so that's not a real issue.

              Collapse JASS:
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BHab')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BUau')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BUav')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BEah')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BHad')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BEar')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BOae')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'BOac')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'Bapl')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'Bplg')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'Boar')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'Babr')
              call UnitRemoveAbility(u, 'Bakb')
              call UnitAddAbility(u, <chaos ability id>)
This script will remove all aura buffs before applying the chaos upgrade. If you have custom buffs in your map, you'll have to remove them here too
Maybe drop all items before using it then repick up the items.

That same quote says its not a good idea to use it on heroes.
However, there is an other simpler way using Bear Form ability which is already used for Xin's Sleight of Fist. Only thing which causes a problem is Hex which can be easily solved by checking for the hex buff.

Work around are provided though, bear form ability base has same problems that are involved in transformation with Lone druid. I guess you could make the transformation 0 seconds though

It could be worked around, but Ice didn't bother and simply made it undroppable. It's easier for him that way. It's not really *that* bigger deal.

It works properly in Dota2. If you drop or sell it, you lose its effects.
It won't be the case in DotA1, so it's undroppable.
