  • Bristleback should not be disabled by hex?

Dota 2: Hex completely disables bristleback. No damage reduction or quils.

Dota 1: Bristleback damage reduction is not working in test map.

But still while being hexed he released quils.

Bristleback is a pre-heal, not a dynamic heal. It won't prevent more damage than Bristleback's missing Health.

I see. Thanks for clarification. Why it can't use dynamic heal? Any way i will update this post and post it in main forum.

I have no idea why it can't use dynamic heal, other than that maybe Bristleback was coded before dynamic heal was around and Icefrog never bothered to go back and change it.

shouldn't edict be a damage from no angle therefore not being affected by bb's passive. since.. it's coming from the ground and not physically from lesh?

Unfortunately, damage sources can't include "the ground," "the river," "the cliff," "the æther," or whatever fanciful sources you can come up with. In DotA, damage is sourced from units only. The ground is not a proper faction in the war, and does not care for the Heroes that walk the earth. GetEventDamageSource() can only find you a unit, not a place or a tree or anything silly.

Funnily enough, there is an issue with Diabolic Edict's interaction with Bristleback in DotA 1, mostly due to Icefrog being a lazy coder.
