Cold snap interaction with shield spells

  • Cold snap interaction with shield spells

    Summary:
Templar's refraction, abaddon's ulti/shield and other 100% damage-negation-shield abilities either completely or partially dispell Invoker's coldsnap.

    Example:
Get invoker to level 2 with level 1 quas and cast coldsnap on Templar before or after she casts refraction

    Result:
Templar gets stunned once from the initial stun, then coldsnap can't be proced from attacks (damage).

    Expected:
Cold snap works exactly like in dota 1,it stuns the target and also applies an instance of damage.

Apparently some people believe this inconsistency is fine in dota 2 as the spell needs 10 damage registered in order to proc,so shield spells should not proc it at all.
However that brings invoker into a clear disadvantage against specific heroes completely negating his spell.

What do you think?Should it stay as is?Should coldsnap work in shield spells like it did in dota 1?Should the damage threshold be completely removed?Should there be a condition added for orb of venom or other low dot abilities/items?

Please make a civilized discussion, thank you.

It's fine as it is. Otherwise you could say that Borrowed Time negates almost everything and makes that useless, like Omnislash etc thus needing reworking.

BKB counters many spells. Does bkb needs a rework too?
