  • Necronomicon level 3: Is it meant to see wards?

Never really utilized them this way (not sure why, I'm just bad), but you can indeed see wards with the minions. Why is this allowed? I'm just curious because it would seem like you should not be able to see wards due to you needing to put yourself in harms way to get the wards when using the minions. Essentially every other method of dewarding costs money, sent wards and gems and there is a chance you could get ganked and lose the gem. In addition you need a hero to actually go there and deward. It kind of surprises me that every support at this point wouldn't just get a book to deward instead of constantly buying sent wards or a gem.

I'm sure there is reasoning behind this, which is fine. I was just curious as to why this isn't a more used strategy. If this is a bug however....

It gives true sight, why wouldn't it see wards?

Because waiting to invest over 5000g for detection is both too slow and, depending on situation, too costly for a support to get.
      (450 belt, 1000 staff, 3* 1250 recipes = 5200g to be exact)

Not to mention the 80s cooldown, potential of not finding a single ward, or the enemy just kill your necros for 150g each.

Compare to actually sending the units to actually push lanes or fight heroes in team fight (where that 600 damage actually is a threat with other people around), or in a more desperate position, use them to farm neutrals or tank ancients for you.

Every time someone make a false report.
Making people's losses feel worse with just my name (don't ask me how it work, I certainly don't)

Currently observed Orb(Unique Attack Modifiers), Critical, and Bash interactions for DotA2

People who cry MM isn't fair: Maybe you're not as great as you make yourself to be.
People who wants surrender: It exists, but I'm not teaching you how to do it.

Dunno, never thought about it. I know the question was stupid, I just was curious as to why it wasn't used more often, esp for like say Beast who is great with a book and usually gets one. Also dust for example, does not reveal wards, so I assumed the same went for the little dudes because they weren't "official wards" haha

Yeah i can see that. Only difference is, necro book benefits a holders stats whereas wards/gem do not. Not only that but wards also give gold too, so i dunno just seemed like a better tradeoff getting a book.

For 5200g tier of item? 16 Str and 24 Int is really low. (also, given the nature of focus firing and supports' squishiness, Ghost Scepter or even Eul will offers a lot more survivability for a lot less cost)

Ward give 50g each, a SINGLE Necro unit gives 150g. And remember that most of the time wards are not place right next to each other, whereas since it's the melee unit that have true sight, you will need the range one with it to de-ward cliffs.

And again, you're waiting THAT long until you start dewarding? And using necro units to deward at that? As soon as the enemy sees that they knows you won't have necro unit in the next minute or so.

Not to mention if you're using them to 'safely deward', you'll be sending them from afar, reducing their duration of scouting even further (admittedly sometimes you get lucky and spawn them right on top of an offensive ward)
