  • BKB/magicimunity skills vs combinations of spells

    I want to understand why this is happening:
    step 1: bane sleeps a hero with BKB
    step 2: hero with BKB presses BKB during sleep
    step 3: alchemist (bane allie) throws stun in hero with BKB ( still under the effect of sleep) ----> when stun reaches target BKB activates and stun has no effect

    since i made some other interactions i saw that usualy BKB acts like naix rage, yurnero bladefury, nyx carapace etc so if u sleep someone with this abilities, if they press it during that disable and someone throws a stun in them it will activate before the stun.

    what i dont understand is the second exemple:

    step 1: bane sleeps a hero with BKB
    step 2: hero with BKB presses BKB during sleep
    step 3: mirana (bane allie ) throws arrow in hero with BKB ( still under the effect of sleep) -----> hero gets damage, gets stun and ALSO uses BKB ( how is that possible?)

    can someone confirm?

    I think they should get stunned only if what wakes them is a stun

      I've seen this multiple times. It seems that the damage is always issued before the stun, allowing 0 cast time magic immunities (Rage, BKB, Blade Fury) to always avoid the stun. I encountered it in a Bane/Sven lane vs Juggernaut, as we were unable to land the sleep/stun combo although there was plenty of sleep time left.

        my guess this is an intendend change, remember IG vs NAVI. i am pretty sure that the chinese didn't know how mechanic worked in dota2, and when naga songed them enigma knew if she hits bkb she gonna 100% bkb even if she awaken in the spikes of tidehunter. same goes for yurnero first spell.
        my problem is that sometimes this spells dont act to this rule as i thought they do. for exemple if i song naix and put blackhole above him, if i remove song while hole is still under his head if he pressed rage he will activate it. same goes for bkb and nyx, but for exemple that doesn't work on yurnero. dunno why

        if i bane sleep a guy with bkb and use icepath on him he cant bkb. if i disrupt or astral a guy with bkb and i put icepath on him before he comes back, he will manage to bkb rage carapace bladefury etc. ( dont understand what's the difference)

          Hm, there was a thread somewhere around here. There the poster was complaining that Juggernaut can cast Blade Fury while being Disrupted and evade Ice Path with it.
          Possible solution to foreigners issue

            That's actually "intended". Ice Path stuns periodicly, meaning if Disruption ends and you manage to become magic immune before the next Ice Path "tick" you're saved.
            It should only be possible in the case of nightmare if there's a delay between damage and stun, although I'm not 100% sure if it's possible in some way in Dota 1.

                Just think about it: Disruption ends at a "random" time, between two Icepath ticks. Icepath however ends Nightmare and directly stuns the target. If Icepath ends Disruption it would have the same effect, but it doesn't.

                  Or it just got fixed for Icepath. It used to work with that, too.
