  • Medusa mechanics. hp/mana regen + item questions

    So i noticed some weird things about Medusa while trying to find out how to not suck on her in practice mode.

    number 1:
    apart from the raw damage getting reduced (just like stat based damage) thing, which seems to be intended, i also noticed that her regen seems to get lower/higher when you toggle either mana shield or split shot. i am sorry that i cant really make a clear statement as to how exactly it changes, or how it is supposed to work. Its just really weird and i dont really see the clear pattern there. but assuming im not insane, im pretty sure the speed at which she recovers health and mana depends on if the skills are toggled on or off, and this change doesnt show at the right side of her hp/mana-bar
    can somebody please explain if there is supposed to be such an interaction?

    number 2: can somebody please explain to me, or give me a link that explains, how certain items like mkb,manta,armlet as well as aura/lifesteal items are supposed to work on her in Dota 2? almost all sources only mention how it is in dota 1.
    (considdering that raw damage gets reduced (and crit only works for primary as well as it getting reduced) many common item choices for her now seem weird to me and im thinking i am missing a point here)

    1.
    mana shield has no effect on regen or damage. if somehow it does, it's a bug.
    split shot will reduce damage from attack, but not triggered effect like mini-bash or chain lightning.

    2. dota2 usually just copy how everything works in dota1
    mkb: only main target can receive mini-bash. main arrow wont miss. secondary arrows can miss in dota2(shouldnt).
    manta: i suppose u r referring to the fact that manta dispells mana shield in dota1. i believe it's just some inconvenience got changed in dota2. of course illusions wont have mana shield.
    armlet: mana shield is not supposed to reduce the hp loss.
    aura: this is a broad topic. but i dont think anything special here
    lifesteal: can only lifesteal from the main target.

      i meant that both toggling the mana shield as well as the split shot seems to produce some fluctuations in her regen, which makes no sense to me whatsoever.
      also while testing, i noticed chain lightning damage getting preserved, minibash damage however seemed lowered (gonna test again and make screenshots if im not mistaking)
      the manta question was about whether or not the item had some sort of special interaction with her secondary arrows itself (secondary arrows themselves seem similar to attacks of illusions in some ways and i assume in dota they were done with dummy units...)
