  • Forcefully selecting Dire/Radiant before the game starts?

I just tested this 5 times and when I queue up alone (might be different for a party) the number that I am when I voted to accept the game determines my player position/color.

theoretically, I can force myself to be on scourge every single game

    1) Queue up
    2) Game pops, wait 5-10 seconds, and then click accept or click asap instantly
    3) Keep ending up on dire/radiant every game

question is.. how much does this matter? lol

not sure if this falls under gameplay bugs anyway

watch the number when it shows players accepted. you can click asap and 5 other people might beat you also

90% of the time i am alt tabbed so when the game pops i always click late and it is very very rare for me to be on radiant. i noticed this a while ago but didn't think anything of it until today

Not sure if this is true, but if it is it would be VERY wrong. It would mean matchmaking doesn't work at all.

This doesn't seem right, last few games I've ended up as blue player in Radiant and I've been first/middle and last to accept before the game starts. Seems like you've just gotten lucky/unlucky with your placement.

isn't it based with the skill of the player?
                w/l ratio?

When I play with a party I'm Dire literally every time. I can't remember the last time I played Radiant.

we share the same theory but from the last 15 games i always accept it late and i end at radiant. some instance is like im the only one they are waiting and end up being radiant again.

That can't be correct. Team matchmaking wouldn't work at all if this were the case, but me and a friend are always on the same team (of course).

It's not true. I tested it.

You have to test it as a team of 5. My theory is that for a team the last one to click "accept" counts. Therefore if there is a team of 5 and there is even one other player who clicks before the last of the team, the team will end up as dire (unless the person who clicked before the last of team was also a team...). Well, the theory can be utter bullshit, but I'm always dire when in a team of 5.
