  • Fraction Of HP

    Hello guys,

I remember in WCIII, damage is Real number rather than integer. I.e. if I hit 1HP unit that has 50% reduction, and I hit it for 1 dmg, I will kill it in 2 hits (you can even see the bar reduce even if number stays 1). I am wondering, does these fractions exist in dota 2? or is it approximate like the log says?

yes, Dota2 does use decimal numbers. This is the reason why the hud sometimes displays 0/x hp but the unit is still alive, because the hud only shows rounded volumes and it rounds down when below x.5. Easiest way to check this is, get WK on low mana at level 1 and wait for getting enough mana for his Q. You will notice the icon will show enough mana when the hud shows 140/x, but it will still give no mana message, because he still misses like half mana point.
    Please, just call me buny.

      Thanks, that answers my question.

but what is HUD if I may ask?

HUD stands for heads-up display. It displays your health, mana, items, skills, map, etc.
There are some custom HUDs that replace your default HUD.

          hello again
what about fraction of stats? it seems to me that the fraction of INT is used to calculate dmg from arcane bolt (of skywrath mage) and sanity eclipse (obsidian destroyer)

right? (i noticed that from arcane bolt at lvl 2 dmg ouput comes from substituting 30.6 int but it doesnt come from subst. 31 int)

          intended right?
