Rearm and Shadow Blade

First of all: i'm really not sure whether this differs from DotA or not. But i have my suspicions.

Basically, when you use Shadow Blade and then Rearm as Tinker, you're still invisible for a couple of moments(like, 0.75 sec). This is relatively gamebreaking, as on lvl 3 you're practically unkillable and unescapable with the enemy not even having a 1-second breathcatcher anymore. Is this how it used to be in DotA? Because i'd honestly never built Shadow Blade(Lothars) on him before. But looking at how it is never mentioned in the guides, i'm quite sure it is supposed to break the invisibility as soon as you start channeling, or else it should of been listed at least in the most popular ones. It pretty much works like it does with Shadow Fiend, who has a semi-channeling spell for an ultimate, while it seemingly shouldn't.

On a side note, i have never tested this with lvl 1 or 2 rearm, but i suppose it should not be any different.
Repro:
1: Pick Tinker, skill Rearm to lvl 3.
2: Buy Shadow Blade.
3: Use Shadow Blade, and then Rearm.

Result:
Hero becomes visible only after a small period of time.

Expected:
Hero becomes visible as soon as Rearm is used.

That is not a bug, this is how it has always worked. It's an intended feature that makes Shadow Blade very viable on Nevermore. And it's not very likely that Tinker's ultimate worked the same way RoS did in DotA.

It also works the same with furion and tele; he's invisible until he actually teleports. I thought only rooftrellen was able to teleport while invisible.

It's not that, it's just that it's quite weird how noone ever noticed this little detail. And it's been years since Tinker is in DotA, soooo i wonder if the consistency is there...

I think everyone knows about it it's just that being invisible forever is really not something that matters on tinker. If you go for a fast lothar's then you won't have the mana to support it and shivas+hex being refreshed is going to do a lot more in team fights than being invis forever. If tinker has survivability issues generally you just buy ghost sceptre and and he can invincible forever.

Actually, it's not permanent invisibility, it's the ability to escape any gank while TP-farming and much more, after all it's more of a post-luxury item to get after Hex. But it's not the strategy we're talking about, it's the consistency, so...

I'm just going to try this in DotA tomorrow and see if it works the same way.

Oh, for chips' sake, it's not that hurr durr always invisible can't touch dis, it's that he actually becomes very, very hard to gank even with Dust or Gem and becomes a better mindgamer+chaser. Personal opinions, you know.

There were those people who actually tested Lothars on Riki and found out that he indeed still has a fade time when using Lothars under the effects of his ulti.

Leaving unkillableness aside...

The difference between SF's ulti and Tinker's ulti is that SF's ulti has a cast time, while Tinker's has a channel time. Cast time spells don't break invisibility until they finish casting, while channeling spells should break invisibility as soon as you start casting.

You can tell which is which by when the mana cost and cooldown are invoked: Tinker pays mana as soon as he starts casting, SF pays mana when he manages to finish casting.

That's what I was about to say too. But, yeah, it is inconsistent after all. In DotA, he would become visible at an instant, in Dota 2, there is a fade time. Screenshots:
