  • Ancient Apparition Ultimate Range on AOE size

    Ancient apparition casts ultimate, it takes two clicks. The first for the target and the 2nd is the projectile, or stoping the target... The further the range, the larger the aoe on the projectile.

    In Dota 1, what I used to do sometimes is cast ulti from base, tp and then launching it, giving me a large aoe and allowing me to cast cold feet etc, its not like that in Dota 2.
    In Dota 2, where you cast doesn't matter, its where you are when you stop it. I tp'd after casting the target, then when releasing the projectile after being closer to the target, the projectile aoe is reduced.
    Of course I could be mistaken as you couldnt really tell the aoe size in dota 1, but I knew the projectile came at the faster speed from behind me if I were to tp closer to the target.

    Steps to reproduce
    1) Cast aa ulti into some far off place.
    2) TP closer to that far off place.
    3) compare aoe sizes from where you cast without tp and where you cast with tp.

    Its working fine in dota2 thats how it should work in dota1 aswell.

      ^ No, it doesn't. The AoE indicator is way too small, it is only a visual problem though. Even though it looks like the AoE is smaller, it is only a visual thing and the actual radius, damage, etc are right.

        thyL ur telling me that if u cast AA's ulti from your base, than tp to a tower and activate it ulti must have the radious and dmg like you were activating from the base?Because i thought that AA's ulti takes the AoE of the distance it travels from AA position when it activates it and not of the point that has been casted...Im not 100% sure about this thats why im asking.

          Yes, it's the original first cast that counts and not the second one, that "releases" the dmg projectile.

            It has been reported before. First we thought the aoe was actually smaller, but after doing some tests the aoe is correct, just the aoe indicator is not correct.
