  • Linken's Sphere and no-targeting/ground targeting Skills.

So i was playing EarthShaker yesterday against a Yurnero who made linkens. Each time i stuned him with anything (aftershock or fissure) the linken absorved it. In DotA 1 as far as i remember(i can be wrong) when you target the ground or AoE based skills don't interact with linkens. So is this a bug? Or a correction of the limitation of W3's engine?

If Linken's holder is primary target, Linken's starts cooldown but spell is in no way blocked. No interaction otherwise.

Did the spell still go off?

Yeah, as i said, Linkens ABSORVED the stun, i meant it prevented him getting stuned, and yes, i was targetting the ground with Fissure. Happened with Enchant totem+Aftershock too....

So I ran tests on this, current dota behaviour is if you target the ground, those abilities still affect linken. If you directly target the linken user, it gets blocked. Tested with Impale, Fissure and Burrowstrike.

Hmm, so it was blocking the stun even if i targeted the ground, we have a difference from DotA 1 here, must know if intended by correcting engine limitation from WC 3 or just a bug.

Yes, it is 100% a difference from Dota1. No idea about if it's a bug or feature, IceFrog or a ValveDev would have to comment. Post it as a difference in the bug forum, so it gets more visibility.
