  • Remove Invoker spell casting animation

    Obviously, Invoker has been dramatic nerfed in Dota2 since dev.dota2 decided to add the animation to Invoker......

    Especially Choas Meteor has bad perfomance in DotA2 comparer to DotA1.

    Here's the reason why...

    DotA1 : Invoker solo mid, You don't have any spell casting animation, you could hit with Meteor easily by while pretending farming creeps. (another fact : Dota1 Meteor appearing slower than DotA2)

    DotA2 : Invoker solo mid, WTF enemy can check you have already invoked Meteor?! then what happen when Invoker raise his hand showing some cool spell animation to enemy + the Meteor is appearing soon on the screen once you cast it even with high resolution shadow can detect something is coming. Only idiot will not run believe me.
    also worth to mention 1 more thing, the casting animation does interrupt the shift command in DotA2 but not in DotA1....

    Conclusion: I strongly suggest Remove Invoker casting animation.

      Invokers spell animation should be more subtle as i have also seen quite a difference both when playing invoker and playing against one.

      Much easier to predict an invoker, which i dont think is good.

        Invoker is a strong hero even with those animations and I don't think valve would want him to have no animation at all, it would look bad just like rubick in dota 1. I'm glad he has animations now.

          I was fairly sure that Invoker casts the spell instantaneously and then does an animation? He seems to do so with Cold Snap / Sun Strike...

            The casting point is 0 yes, but an animation is still shown which can delay shift-queue commands and give a warning that a meteor is about to drop on your head. That's basically all that this thread is about.

            I'm gonna have to go with what Amraa said personally.

              Invoker is Nerfed Quite alot by 2 Things one of witch is the animation and the other is that u can see the invoked spells ....
              The animation Greatly Effect Exort build ... Since u have 2 spells witch need to be cast "secretly" ... Sun Strike and Meteor ....
              Its pritty easy to evade them now since u see him doing his animation u just move left or stop or do other jug action ... and you are safe..
              In adition u can aways know if hes gona SS or Meteor you by clicking on the hero .. So Valve must fix this problem ... Since they
              Probly wont fix the Animation atleast Fix the Skill's showing all the time ...
              Sugestion - Make his Cast Animation the same as his attack Animation ... So atleast he will be harder to read..
              I used to be a mannered player but then i took a CYKA to the knee ! ValveKnights the new name for Scrub..

                  when you cast sunstrike he pushes his hands forward and make it pretty easy to predict. I think that animation should be played AFTER the sunstrike deals damage

                    Making the animation play after it deals damage just looks stupid. If you want the animation removed, just remove it proper.

                      I strongly suggest remove it or make his casting animation the same as his attack Animation will look like pressing S to cancel attack ^^

                      i read the casting rate = 0 but wtf????? shift command pause awhile at casting animation ? is that a casting rate =0??? i don think so

                      i play invoker 130 games in dota2 i realise i couldn't react as fast as possible in dota2 compare to Dota1..... due to the casting animation.....

                        IF DotA1 Invoker is harder to read, DotA2 invoker is easy to read, then... Dota2 Invoker is not a complete mirror of DotA1's.... to me just like playing anohter Hero??? Invoker no longer is Invoker anymore...

                          ^many heroes are not precise copy form dota1, since intrinsically dota2 is a different game. maybe make the animation of meteorite subtler. completely removing the animation imo is out of the question.

                            Just hide the invoked spells and also fix the elements' tooltips so the enemy can't deduce from them which levels the elements are. Currently the enemies are able to see the highlighted numbers in the tooltips -_-

                              just remove the animation from the 2 spells that matter :meteor and sunstrike, its not like kunkas torrent because invoker cant x mark the spot for the sunstrike , and the meteor is easily visible by being a frikin rock coming from space, in average to high lvl play it is really easy to dodge 2 of his best spells.
