  • Shift Queue

There is something I'd like to discuss about queue mechanism.

In the settings auto attack is enabled and here is the thing: The hero attacks anything if its in the range of aggresion between queuqe commands.

    Here's the steps:
    1. Pick a hero.
    2. Go to near a neutral camp when it's day.
    3. Press and hold shift and right click next to a neutral camp without releasing shift, right click back to where hero was and then relase the shift button.
Result: Hero goes next to the camp. As soon as he arrives he begins to attack. If he is successful enough to kill all the neutral creeps, he then goes back to the first place.

Expected result: In my opinion the hero has to go to the first place and then back where he was standing; resulting the neutrals coming after the hero.

Why do I think like that?
It's related to how the auto attack setting works. If you move your hero to somewhere else he would go there. If you hold your hero and if he's melee he wouldn't auto attack if any enemy units are not in his aggression area. So why all of a sudden a hero rejects taking orders and goes to attack? Auto attack option has no higher priority than the user's commands.

If you move a hero he would go there. If you stop the hero he would stop. If you hold the hero he would hold himself. After that he can auto attack since there was no other command to make him busy.

Why does the auto attack option has higher priority between queue commands?

EDIT: I think this is fixed now.

Yep it seems to attack(and continue attacking until they are dead) any enemys around you before carrying out any shift queue commands

It's the reason you can't shift queue ghost walk on invoker while in the air with eul's if enemys are near by. Since it wants to auto attack something before doing the command.

I never played the first dota, was it the same in that? Would be much more useful if it wasn't like this

Issue has nothing to do with turning auto-attack on or off. The game should obey commands queued by shift queuing regardless.
