    In dota1, when tower has to choose a target it will take the creeps even if the hero is closer, cause the hero isn't issuing an attacking movement to the tower
    In dota2, when tower has to choose a new target, it will take the hero, even tough this hero do not issue an attack command to the tower

    Note that i made this vid with -wtf cause i was to slow to reproduce without it (I'll hope it doesn't change behaviour of target choice).
    Note2 if wtf change the behaviour of target choice, i can tell you that there's still a similar target choosing bug but i'm too slow to show it .

    So either creeps aren't attacking tower till they are in range for it, or there's something wrong with the aggro priority.

    I will do some further test in letting the range creep alive and with a 2nd hero who issues a command attack to the tower.

    Edit: If range creep is already hitting at tower, no probleme, if range creep is in range of tower, but not in range to attack himself, tower attack hero http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhPHa...ature=youtu.be
    So it rather seems that creeps aren't issuing attack early enough, and nothing wrong with tower priority

    (that the most important thing to check imo)
    Tower in dota2 don't really know who issued an attack movement on them, while in dota1 they know
    (it might be related to the very slow aggro creep when rightclicking an enemy hero in presence of enemy creep)

    It always choose the closest target or the one who ordered an attack on it first. I don't think it is wrong. Anyway if you don't want to hit by tower order an attack to an allied creep.

    Back to the video, In the Dota 2 part you were the closesest target, but in the Dota 1 part I think it was the creep, it is hard to decide.

      tikshow you should watch the video and read his post again.

      He is aware that tower attack the closest unit to it (assuming the unit is attacking the tower which is not the case. look at the video.)

          Towers always attack the closest target. But more importantly Towers attack units which attack the tower itself.
          Simplified: Attacking Order on Tower or allied Heroes > distance to the tower
          If noone is attacking the tower or an allied hero at all, the tower is going to choose the nearest unit as new target.

          Long story short: I agree with tikshow. I'm not completely sure that you were the closest target in the DotA 1 part of the video.

            ? he even blocked the creep where as in the dota 1 video he doesn't, dunno how that justifies being behind the creep according to him dota 1 towers wont change targets until the attack is completely cded meaning you can dispel aggro and attack a hero if you really wanted after the tower hits a creep. dota 2 towers will change targets whenever.

                Tower target change when target die (not 3 hours after), I putted an image to show it.
                If I was doing like you, I could have exactly the opposite image, with creep behind lich in dota1 and lich behind creep in dota2

                Anyway, Those image are no longer needed thx to the "edit 2"

                  Yes, but there is one tiny but big problem with your picture. Attack animation/attack speed/attack time, while the tower restarts it's animation/attack, since it is clear it isn't finished yet. There is a tiny amount of time to restart it's animation/attack but it is enough to the creep to get closer to the tower then you.

                    to me towers are attacking the closest target... which is correct
                    screenshots in #7 are not good. they onlys shows the position when lich used sacrifice/dark ritual, but not the position when towers attack

                      But if unit is using an attack command on tower, it has an higher priority over unit that just stand near tower but not attack tower (I think only exeption(s) is/are cata and mb ward).
                      And currently tower don't really know who are issuing attack command on them

                        I see no issue here. tower Attack the closest enemy target, hero or not. But i noticed if a hero attack the tower while it targeting another hero, it chances the target to the hero attacking it. works like a lure to save your partner.

                            First, tower aren't doing: animation, search target, hit, they do search, target animation, hit, so you musst check when target die

                              You're blocking the anti mage with your lich. Your lich was closer to the tower when the tower started attacking, and the anti mage didn't even hit the tower at that time (out of range).
                              Your tests are very sloppy. I just tested it myself with Jakiro so I got very clear results. Tower is remembering who attacks it.
                              There's no bug.
                              Your tests just are extremely bad.
                              Request for close.

                              PS: Sorry for the hard words, but it just makes me mad if someone posts a video-proof, and it doesn't proof anything because you're just too lazy to make it a clear one and instead decided your units to do extremely close and arguably actions.
                              If you request it, I upload a video, if not, then maybe I still upload it.
