    Drow's attack range decreased with frost arrows

    Summary:
    When using frost arrows against a target, you fire the arrows closer than 625 range.

    Repro:
    Pick Drow and a unit with 600 attack range(tested on Rubick) and attack him normally - he wouldn't attack back since he is too far.
    Use frost arrows on him and you get closer to him and he can attack back.

    Result:
    Drow uses frost arrows not from 625 range but closer(600 or lower)

    Expected result:
    Drow uses frost arrows from 625 range

    i tested a few cases. this happens to every orb spell. it seems that when casted manually, the range of such spells is 25 shorter. can be easily verifieded by using viper since the casting range is 25 longer than attack range.
    the question is ... if it is normal. i dont think so personally...
    (a maybe related question does it mean attack range and casting range are calculated on different basis?)

      That's because it counts as a spell and spell ranges are calculated differently than autoattack ranges

        They are intended and are a "legacy" of old attack ranges of drow and viper that both were 600, likely IceFrog forgot to change the value of the spells when modifying the range but he chose later to keep those values since drow became more popular and Viper became less popular.

          no. that's wrong. icefrog did change the casting range of these spells to match the attack range.
          u can see in the picture drow ranger does not have to move when swithed to frost arrow(manually casted).

              Drow is the only one(besides techies) with a natural attack range higher than 600.

                wrong. lina's attack range is also 625.
