Movement logic issue

  • Movement logic issue

    Sometimes we got situations when enemy is out of cast range and between your hero and enemy are some terrain like cliffs, rivers, trees or else.
    When enemy is out range and u press "Use skill" on it, your hero trying to find a way to be closer with enemy but very offen hero going around although he could just come a little closer and use skill from terrain (like use skill on enemy on low ground from high ground).
    Maybe valve will change movement logic and if hero can cast from cliff he will come closer?

    To me this falls in the realm of player hero control. Since your enemy is moving too, the movement logic can't predict where the hero will be when you reach that piece of terrain.

    If the hero is in range you will attack/cast.

      that is one of the things you need to practice to become good at dota imho.
      you might wanna suggest an option to turn off/toggle the pathing from "path finding" to "direct path" in the settings subforum.
      but as i said, i dont think that something like that belongs into the game.
