    So I remember that in dota1, Slark was able to Pact himself out of nasty spells like Telekinesis and Torrent.

    In Dota 2, he can't remove any of the above and he can't even remove Gale... which makes a single Veno pick to render Slark almost useless.


    This hero already needed some buffs back in dota1, in Dota 2 he is A LOT weaker because of this change. The hero is now sitting at the bottom 10 with the worst win rate, with only a poor 43% when he should be owning the lower brackets with his invisibility and people's inability to buy gems and sentries in that skill level.

    I think in this case, it should it be like it was in dota1, atleast until Slark gets buffed. He was already unplayable in high skill matches and with this change he is really weak even in low skilled games

    Simple and obvious things that should get fixed/added asap: SCOREBOARD, Ingame friend list, Different Ping for Roshan, Add Notes to Players, Accept Button while tabbed

    DLRevan (I think that's his name...) said it was intended for now that it doesn't remove poisons, and currently nothing does...

      u need to back ur thread with proof. r u sure in dota1 it dispels torrent/telekinesis/whatever u mentioned, while in dota 2 it doesnt?
      also the winrate means nothing currently. bunch of noobs/newbies pick slark and feed like no tomorrow. a chinese (dota1) client stats shows that slark has around 52.74% winrate. decent imo.

        The critical bugs section said that it shouldn't be removing torrent and telekenesis I believe? I am not 100% sure though, will test it now.

        EDIT: It shouldn't remove telekensis, so I don't know what you mean?

          Torrent and co do not get dispelled in Dota 1. This was a bug on test client which got fixed. Here is one thread about this issue: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=62459&p=391554
          Gale as well as Akashas shadow strike do behave similar to Rupture regarding dispel. The spell does not damage you while magic immune, but it also does not get purged.
          There was/is a bug where shadow strike is still active after buyback, which reminds me of Rupture symbol after respawn in Dota 1

          Edit: On a side note, I also support buffs to slark. He is just too weak. Observer wards counter his map movement, sentries counter his ultimate, Blinks and stuff counter his leap and even Dark Pact isn't prior to everything....
          Plus, his shitty int prevents him from being fun support in atoD :P

          I got the feeling slark is the opposite to Spock in "Stone Paper Scissor Lizard Spock"

            And you are still slowed by it (inconsistent with rupture, still has some effect), however in WC3 DotA it was still dispellable, just not removed by BKB or any other magic immunity.

              You are right. It does slow and it used to dispel some time ago. I did not play Dota 1 for a year, but afair Icefrog ported the gale/strike buff to Dota 1 as well. It's definetly intended.
              Back in the days ghost scepter was a good counter to Veno ultimate, now it's meh..

                Yeah purge and cyclone appear to now not dispel shadow strike style skills, however dark pact does, however refer to my previous post about a mod saying it was intended for now.

                    So, is there a list of purgeable skills? Not even that anoying attack debuff from Bane can be removed. What is the good thing about this skill again? It can't remove any good debuffs, I'd rather put on Status...

                      Ah just made a report on this. Well even if we assume it's not supposed to remove Viper/Venomancer stuff, there's still one major spell it should be removing and it doesn't, Naga Siren's Ensnare. Removes it find in dota1 but not in dota2. Enfeeble is not removable in dota1 either, that's intended. You can remove the spell effect and debuff icon, but you still keep -120dmg the whole time, that's to make Bane a little more viable.

                        "Notes

                        • Undispellable."

                        Slarks Dark Pact removes nearly anything but things that throw you up in the air. In addition to this there are some buffs you can't purge. Exceptions proof the rule

                          The list Pyros linked is still correct as far as I know. It should only be missing effects for heroes made after 6.66b.

                          As I mentioned in Critical bugs, nothing is going to be done with the spell just yet. But the current interaction is not necessarily intended.

                          If possible, list any spells, other than Venomancer's, Viper's debuffs and Ensnare that don't have parity with wc3 Dota.

                            A day has passed since Slark's introduction and with more games played, his winrate lowered further going from the 11th worst pub hero to the 8th worst.

                            In dota1, when Pact procs, Slark goes back to the ground immediately with the speed of the spell instead of waiting 2.5 seconds in the air. Same with Torrent as far as I remember.

                            It means a lot. Centaur was broken in dota1 and when he got ported, he got an insane winrate as was expected. This bunch of noobs factor works for all heroes. The fact that Slark is a full 10% below his dota1chinese public win rate means a lot. Again I state, he was weak in high skilled games (never even picked on competitive games), in Dota2 he is even weaker.

                            According to that list, these should be removed:
                            [B0AQ]-Venomous Gale
                            [BEsh]-Many other Shadow Strikes
                            [B001]-Viper Strike

                            Although people claim that it got changed, unlike Bane's skill which was in the changelog as a buff to Bane, there is no such indication to Veno (a very unnecessary nerf to Slark, QoP already eats him for lunch just by using Screams....).
