What are the actual constants used? Are they Blizzard's?
    Has anyone tested this?

  • #2
No one has tested this and Valve has not disclosed the constants, but they don't seem to be using the same method as Blizzard, I recall someone doing like 30k hits and there was once a gap larger than what Blizzard's would allow.

Blizzard's constants are lower than what actually gives those percentages though... Wonder why they'd go lower :/

Different method rather than different constants is what Valve has IMO.

        • #5
So what you're saying is that they took Blizzard's badly calculated constants and apply them in different way? That makes zero sense.

I'd expect just using correct constants. dota2wiki states that the constants are the same as they were in WC3 but I guess it can't be trusted.

            No... You like twisting things...

I think that they have a completely different method than Blizzard, gonna dig up those posts.

E: Can't find it, sooo many posts about random, pseudo random, randomness, etc.... Heck maybe it wasn't even in this afhagvbjbesoifhndpf
E2: Can't we just have someone from Valve explain it?
